wgraves7582 - 2010-07-26 7:30 AM Morning Ghoulies - hope everyone had a good weekend.

So exactly what date are we counting the challenge starting on so I know how far in front of everyone I am!

narcissistic Bill is here for a while today

I think we started last Wednesday or Thursday.

Cool - I thought it was Thursday - so I am 4 for 4.  Just wanted to make sure.

I will sell pictures of my assatar though to help offset my loss of income when I quit so I can ride my bike all day long

Bill, how is your hip feeling?  You seem to be doing great with the vibrams.

lol - I love the first picture.  It looks like the dog could also double as a comfy pillow for him to lean against while he reads to it.

ironannekidd - 2010-07-26 9:04 AM Hi Kim

Feeling any better today Ann?

Yes, much better. I was able to get a short run in yesterday afternoon. I felt pretty drained yesterday, but at least it was something.

So I'm sitting here thinking about what bike I'm going to ride this winter. I should be able to keep riding my tri bike for awhile, but when the weather turns bad I'm not sure. I have a hybrid that I like to ride, so maybe that. My son has claimed it, but if I put the seat up again I can get some miles there. I have another hybrid that my husband claimed. I would have to drop the seat on that one and take it to the LBS for some work. It hasn't been shifting gears right.

I am saving for a kayak right now so if I don't have to buy a bike for the winter I would rather wait until spring and get a new road bike.

What to do... what to do?

hello ghoulies! I have had a very busy few weeks! I completed my first HIM in 6:43:28! It was the most painful yet amazing thing I have done! I can't wait for IMWI next year! Then my kids raced on Saturday and I raced again on Sunday, did the sprint and PR'd by 7 min! I was expecting a not so stellar race seeing I was still recovering from the 1/2 but I felt great out there! (still not as speedy as the fasties in my age) but I improved all my times from last year....now time to focus on the run for lakefront mary.  Hope all is good with all of you!

Can you get fenders on either of the hybrids?  If so - just use that.  Fenders are key to keep you somewhat dry but the bikes will get trashed for sure - plan on doing a big overhaul each spring.  Mine is still waiting for me to take apart the brakes and clean those up and then I got my new handlebars this weekend for it so I will get it ready and do some fall riding on her just to get her ready for snow!!!

I cannot wait!

The one my son claimed is a Diamondback. The one my husband claimed is a Trek. I think fenders on the Trek would be the best bet. I'll have to look into it.

I have purchased 4 bikes, 3 of them have been claimed by the men in my house. Everytime I talk about buying a new bike my husband says but you already have all these. Yes, but you guys take them so I never get to ride them!

You did in the ESPN one.  Did you in the tattoo also?  I think you might have called him on the 140.3 (that was great!)

So you are 2 for 2

Yeah I did both of those.

I was a little unclear about his statement for the ESPN one. I guess he wanted to know what everyone thought about ESPN's comment, but again, he was unclear.

I love Lance. I am a big supporter of the Livestrong foundation. I've lost loved ones to cancer, I like the awareness he raises for it.

Yeah, I commented on the 140.3, too.

I sometimes wonder why I ever leave THE VILLAGE.

Well here is a suggestion - Pick up a low end Cyclocross bike (they are generally fender and rack compatible) and you can get one for under $1,000 new or much less used

let me know because I could send you some fenders (i have a couple of extra sets) or bring them down in October )

Any suggestions on where to look for a Cyclocross bike? Craigslist around here has pretty slim pickens.

I would look at some of the larger areas. I wouldn't mind driving somewhere to get something.

Hey dudes!

Ahahahahahah I LOVE tri talk sometimes.

Honestly. People get tattoos...people like tattoos...I will not get a tattoo because I don't like tattoos...I will get myself something else like a tattoo that is not engraved on my body...but this is my choice, just like getting a tattoo is someone else's choice...

F!...

Well...

I think I'm actually losing it...I woke up at 4am to go to the washroom...went back to bed...looked at my phone and there were no texts...I felt this was odd as I texted a bunch of people before going to sleep. But not odd enough to not fall back to sleep. So when I woke up just now...I looked at my phone and I had already CHECKED all of the messages! wtf...

Haha...apparently I check my phone in my sleep now?...
