Just out of curiosity, how come no one ever comes out and says they're afflicted by the Irish curse or something else like that when the topic comes up?  Just once, other than a hockey locker room where it oddly became a point of pride at times, I want to hear a guy admit it...

ironannekidd - 2010-08-06 8:56 AM Hi Amy!

What happened on your OWS? Swimming in lighting would be WORSE than running in lightning!!!

It was storming when we got there--just light sprinkles off/on, thunder and distant lightning. There were 7 of us there, hoping that this storm was as fast moving as the storms we had earlier in the day. It was. Problem is, immediately after that storm cloud there was an even darker, nastier one. We stood there in the parking lot, waiting to see how fast this one would pass over when the lightening started hitting the ground less than a mile away on both sides of us, and then we had a bit of a cloudburst. SurprisedNothing like thunder that is simultaneous with the lightening, and being able to see how close the lightening really was to get you out of the wetsuit and into the car, STAT! We ended up driving down to the gym about 6 miles away and swimming in the lap pool with 2 friends. It turned out really nice, and we watched the lightning through the glass wall while we swam. Then we hit the sauna afterwards. *sigh* Cool

Top O' the morning Ann - sorry to hear about the interview.  We're interviewing for a position at the moment and you wouldn't believe some of the people who have come through the door.  With any luck, they also applied for your position and you'll get called back for a second interview.

My wife is B-R-U-T-A-L in making me practice my interviewing skills while I am looking for a job.  What I do isn't easy to summarize either so it's a struggle to find the right words without a little rehearsal.  It has definitely paid off so try practicing ?how to talk about what you d?o?? ?a? ?b?i??????t and then blow them out of the water!

Hangover to the best of my recollection - Irish are drinkers so the call it the Irish Curse or Bug I believe!

What does that have to do with a locker room?

I had that thought, too, but I don't think that's it. Maybe the Irish bug. But the irish Curse. hmmm. Can't say it out loud. Embarassed plus, I might be wrong. Which would double the embarrassment. I just couldn't handle that, LOL.

Um... the Irish curse is generally given to someone who is lacking in a certain, important area. Like when I made the comment earlier about the size of my thumb... yeah... he had the Irish curse.

Ah, I just read what the "Irish Curse" is on the urban dictionary.  It does have something to do with size (or rather lack of) and men.  I will say no more.

That would be cool.  Around here, even the indoor pools close if there is lightening out.
