lisac957 - 2012-07-20 12:28 PM Mid year performance review. Excruciating. It's crystal clear we just do not like each other and how large of a struggle it is to maintain a good manager/employee relationship with our vast personality differences. First time I've gone to the bathroom and cried at this job.

Don't let him get you down. No review should ever make someone feel like crying. Cr@p management right there and probably a pretty weak person all round.

Cheer-up little Lisa.

Lets go stretch and steam in the locker room.  Now who is into it?

I suppose I could....just this once!

I bet TAN-Mart would make a GREAT reality show.

What would the theme tune be?

Three's company is always appropriate.

TAN-mart where the ending is always chaos and everyone wins!

Couple-up, triple-up, quad-up just don't leave anyone  behind program.

Or maybe it could be where virtual meets reality.  We can print out all the TAN so people can learn about our characters and see how we match up in reality.

Lisa, I agree with mjr. I have a credo about work. Never work for a bad manager. If you let him/her get you down and you quit working hard, your own career is hurt. If you work hard and compensate for his/her deficiencies, you perpetuate the bad management. It is a no win.

I don't know about your particular company but most aerospace companies have fairly sophisticated evaluation tools for managers. If you (and few others) who are valued start to ask for transfers or leave the company, it will come back to affect his evaluation too.  Complaining doesn't work.  About the only thing that really works is to vote with your feet.

There ya go! Now someone is bringing it all together.

This actually could do well with a book written to prelude a reality show of US

Well kiddos, the Geezer clan is sorting itself back to the respective home bases.  After a whirlwind tour, JWKMH is coming back to OR for the first time in about 3 weeks.  G1 and GG1 are gone back to Brazil.  G2 is heading back to LA as we speak.  G3 is back in Atlanta.  Life is back to the usual.  I think I should take the missus out to dinner and get acquainted again.

Have fun.  See you next week.

I've been taking steps in the past 6 months or so to do just that. And I agree. It's no-win.
Which makes me so sad because I love the company I work for, what we do, its leadership and vision, innovation - etc. I believe in them and am their biggest cheerleader. I used to love coming to work every day and told everyone I'd "hit the jackpot" in getting this job and the people I worked with. My, how things can change.

Well good luck in your quest. It sounds like you want to find a way to stay with the company but get out from under your current manager. If you have a good enough relationship with your previous manager it may be worth an off-the-record chat asking for some guidance.

A bit of math: TAN 176. At 80 pages each, that's 14,030 pages. At 20 posts per page, that's 281,600 posts.

I'd wager that at least 1/3 of them discuss nakediditty.

So the other 190 odd thousand posts are essentially just a waste of time?
