I wish I had a goal like an event like that. I need SOMETHING to motivate me. I could NEVER do a power lifting event. My muscles are too long to be crazy strong like that. Too long/far to move the weights. I have never been very strong. Like only 30 pushup max or 12 pullups while the little guys crank out hundreds. Tall has it advantages....swimming is one |

Sensei![]() | ![]() ratherbeswimming - 2012-12-20 9:42 AM Kido - 2012-12-20 12:26 PM Anyone know how much kenneling is? Is there a deal for two dogs? I don't know what to do with my little dogs over the holidays. No one can take them in. My bio-dad and his wife really want us to bring them but they have white carpet and white tile and white walls (not that poop should be hitting the walls)... And my dogs are BASICALLY house trained. They are at our house except for the girl who now has a bladder stone causing some minor bladder issues and little "accidents". Long story. But at a new house, they sometimes don't know the routine. So I fell like I would have to monitor them 24/7. I would hate for them to pee on a while carpet.... They have a dog of there own, which is a plus. But kenneling may be WAY too expensive. I don't know what to do... and stressed. Holidays suck! haha! Some places offer a discount if you board two little dogs in the same kennel. You'd need to plan ASAP though, kennels can fill up during the holidays. That's my other fear. Jacked up rates and/or full occupancy. I'm afraid that it's going to be travel and full time baby sitting/monitoring. It could be fun, but I'm already with my apologies for pee on the carpets. It's also Laguna Beach, so I could leave them outside most of the time as it's not that cold. |

Sensei![]() | ![]() mr2tony - 2012-12-20 9:37 AM Ugh my brother just relayed the story about how they put their dog down a couple days ago. I'm not emotional about death but that one tugged at the heart strings. Maybe it's because dogs are so much better than people. True and true. The dog scene in that Will Smith movie still chokes me up. |

Yeah, I would start making calls ASAP. My brother-in-law kenneled his two dogs for a weekend when he married my sister (backyard wedding - keep the mutts outta the way) and I think it ran him like $200+.... but he has large dogs (mastiff and a boxer) so that may make a difference.
Taking the dogs with you isn't that bad of an idea - carpet can be cleaned, especially if it's been ScotchGuarded, but there is the additional stressor of whether or not all the dogs would even get along. If they don't, that'll be a very stressful trip. |

If they don't, that'll be a very stressful trip. Looks like that's the direction. I will put them out every couple of hours and be ready to pay for carpet cleaning. Plus if they sleep with us, they WON'T go for sure. I have say, it's RARE to find a ornery Shih Tzu. They ONLY time I have seen them get upset is when they see a cat, and that's still sort of playfull. They love all people all dogs (at least mine do) And their dog is completely oblivious to other dogs. Loves people but pays no attention to other dogs. So they will all get along great. It could be fun, I never traveled with them before and they might like the new smells and sights of the beach. But it just adds stress. |

Yeah I kinda do, but I am also trying to train for the erg. sprint race in February. Yesterday was a hlaf hour row so I have no idea how "far" I ended up being. I get to do 5 x 500m tomorrow morning with descending splits and 3:30 rest between. It will be fun I am sure!

Ooooh Ouch! It's always fun when we row around Davis island ~ a 5 mile row. about halfway through my left leg and butt cheek goes to sleep. Then it starts waking back up when we are almost back to the dock. The pins and neeldles thing is very disconcerting! I hope that SI joint thing gets better for you. My son was breech and used to kick me mostly in the left sciatic nerve. It hasn't been the same since and that is the side that give me trouble most often. |

Yeah, they are small enough. I would have to drug them though. My boy does NOT like being in a crate/bag/cage and will bark and bark. One scary time, I had him in a crate over night because he was having toilet issues and I was trying to re-crate train him. I went down stairs the next morning and the entire crate will covered with blood. I almost freaked. He tried so hard to get out, that he ripped his own claws off scraping at the gate to get out. |
