Extreme Veteran 3020 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSED I am sick at the moment, so no training for me today. Nasty head cold + tightness in chest + cough. I didn't sleep very well last night at all. I'm not sure if I need to visit the doctor or ride this out. My youngest is extremely ill as well, and I don't want to take him all over Cleveland when he's in such a fragile state. Yuck!!! On a positive note, I woke up to freshly made beet-celery-lemon juice. My husband surprised me with this concoction, which is supposed to aid in liver functioning. It was so nice that he went to all the effort to make me something he thinks might help me to feel better. He's a keeper! I'm calling to schedule a bike fit for late January. I'm hoping they're not crazy busy and can get me in. Edited by jarvy01 2013-01-07 7:43 AM |

I must say Scott - Wholy sh*t. And I must ask, how long was the before pic taken before the race photos? Quite an accomplishment.
I was 250ish in the spring of 2010. Spring of last year I got down to the low 160s and have pretty much stayed there. That's awesome! So you went to U of H...I went there a couple of semesters. Lived in Spring and around Willowbrook Mall area. Today was a 6 mile walk/run. My running buddy was not feeling the run today, and it was actually better for me because as we were doing it, I realized it was my 7th straight day of working out. Small world. I loved UH. Of course I got way too involved in the Greek system and majored in drinking for a year or so. Probably helped get me to 250 lbs. LOL.
Jen- Get better.
I too had 1600 of fist drills this morning and a 55 minute run with 4 x 30 second strides at the end. |

Not yet. I need to force myself over to masters class, but the idea of swimming outdoors in 30 degree weather makes me cringe. |

Master 2151 Johns Creek, Georgia | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSED Day 7 and I'm feeling blah. Just no energy, feel very 'heavy'. Reading the Whole30 forums it seems most folks don't feel back to 'normal' as far as energy and exercise until week 3 or 4. This feeling is what always made me go back to starchy carbs in the past. I'm going to stick it out, I can do 30 days by golly, but I don't like this blah feeling. How is everyone else following Whole30 feeling during exercise? Or even just in general? |

Regular 211 | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSED karen26.2 - 2013-01-07 9:45 AM Ours is outdoors all year around also. It's works well for me, because they keep the water at around 82 or 83 degrees all the time, so you can see the steam rising off of it on cold mornings. Despite the cold air outside, I've gotten so I like it better than the indoor pool. The stuffy, chlorine-y smell can be sort of overpowering there. The only downside is that they move us inside on mornings when it is below freezing, b/c of worries about ice on the pool deck. Sadly, cold is worse this morning. This may be a long one. Great pics, Kelly, Scott, and Jeff. I'll see if I can come up with a picture to post. You fit-looking people are setting the bar pretty high, though...uhcoog - 2013-01-07 9:33 AM jarvy01 - 2013-01-07 8:31 AM I would LOVE to own a TRX. I prefer TRX and KBs to the machines at the gym. First thing I'm having on Day 31 is a beer! Not to say I may not continue on past day 30, but I am jonsing for a nice stout (and Tom brewed an imperial stout that is calling my name!). I picked up some things at Trader Joe's last night and also bought Tom a gourmet pizza and some chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels. I was not tempted at all. It's weird how I'm not wanting sugar. Just wish I didn't feel so blah. |

Master 1832 Elgin, IL | Subject: RE: kaburns1214 Mentor Group 2013 (Year 3!) - CLOSED My brother installed my TRX in my basement. When he saw it, he loved it but wasn't willing to spend the money on it for his house, so he tried to make one at home. He did make one, but was disapoointed because it does not have all the adjustments. It is harder to adjust to do different things. He did recommend the TRX mount to hold the unit, home-made or not. |

Kevin and I are scheduled for date night next weekend, and he picked a steakhouse. I figure I can get some meat, steamed veggies, and salad there. It's still hard to eat out with this meal plan. I felt pretty crappy during my long ride yesterday, but I'm sick anyway, so I don't know if it's from the diet or the illness. Maybe it's both! |

I've still got this lingering cough and a little chest congestion, so I'm sure that's part of it, but really feel a lack of energy. I'm trying to eat the sweet potato, but it's a struggle. Going to try a regular store bought orange variety tonight. These Japanese ones suck! |

I have used photobucket, but they give you 4 options and I'm not sure which link to use. Why isn't it as easy as Facebook! They need a Facebook button, and should add a Like button while they are at it! |

Going to try a regular store bought orange variety tonight. These Japanese ones suck! I would get the orange variety if I were you. I took 3 really big orange sweet potatoes and shredded them in the food processor. Then I sautéed them in coconut oil. Stored them in the refrigerator for 4 days and they kept well. After my workout, I'd fill up a bowl, add some cinnamon, and warm. I'd eat that + veggie omelet. No time to make sweet potatoes each morning, so it helps to do this in bulk and store for a few days. You can also patty them up with an egg and coconut flour or almond meal and sauté them in olive oil like little pancakes. They taste decent. Energy is down for me, but my skin looks wonderful. Don't know if it's the diet or the juices or the water, but it's completely blemish free. Usually my face is confused and seems to think I'm 15 instead of 34. |
