Originally posted by ChineseDemocracy I'm aching to hear Tony's take on this. I imagine he is in a situation room right now with Rudy Guliani, Roger Ailes, and Newt Gingrich. Hmmm, Donald, Rudy, Roger, and Newt...what could possibly make American women nervous about this fine band of gentlemen? I stick to my earlier idea of Hillary appearing with an old-fashioned parchment scroll filled with the names of conservatives not voting for Trump...a scroll so long it hits the floor. And how ironic would it be that a scroll like that, unfurled to the floor, could break a glass ceiling wide open???

Hah

It's certainly not a good thing for Trump so there's no spinning that and it will most certainly damage him but the full extent is likely to be minimal in the long run.

I try to take a step back when I look at these things and feel the Clinton hand was forced a little.  There's no question the audio/video on Trump is a big October surprise and I'm fairly confident they wanted to hold it until later in the month for full effect.  However, the Wikileaks release came out and they needed a fast media smoke screen so queue the Trump tape.  The evidence supporting this is the day it was released.  Friday is the day you release stuff you don't want people to see because its the day of the week most people aren't paying attention.  The Trump tapes would not have been released on a Friday if it weren't to deflect the Wikileaks release (IMHO)

Trump will likely take a bump in the polls, but he has plenty of time to recover.

As for Bill Clinton not being a rapist, I truly encourage you to watch the interview tapes of his victims and then tell me that you are a supporter of women but believe they're all liars.
Bill was very lucky in that he did his sexual assaults in an era where the legal system didn't believe women and DNA wasn't used in courts.

I'd start by looking in furniture stores.   ;-)

I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks before the election.  I bet this will only become more entertaining.

We know that there will be several more October surprises from Wikileaks and I'm sure there will be more dirt on Trump so I do agree that the next few weeks will be very entertaining.

From Frank Luntz undecided focus group after debate:
Who had the greater positive impact on your voting choice tonight?

• 21 say Trump • 9 say Clinton

Trump did a pretty good job of pivoting the discussion from the tape and landed a lot of really good shots on Hillary.  She was visually flustered and uncomfortable at several points which was a complete reversal from the first debate.  She was in command in that one and had Trump on his heels.

I don't know who won, but Trump was much more effective this time. It's interesting, I'm here on the debate grounds doing sone contract security work....there are MANY more Trump supporters than Clinton supporters, but the media coverage has not shown that at all.

I am undecided and a woman.

I really don't know how I'm going to vote.

Well, he's currently being sued for rape. So there's that. His hearing is scheduled for December, which will be interesting if he's president elect.

It could certainly be nothing more than an attempt to shake down a rich man. There's also a woman named Jill Harth who was a model in the 90's and sued him for sexual assault (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/20/donald-trump-sexual-assault-allegations-jill-harth-interview). She dropped the suit after Trump settled a separate lawsuit with her husband. So again, maybe just someone out looking for money.

And finally Melania testified in her deposition that Trump raped her. The account she gave was not pretty. She then walked back her word "rape" after receiving one of the largest divorce settlements in history that included a very strict confidentiality agreement. So she either lied under oath to get more money, or lied after receiving her money when she was at risk of losing it.

Thanks for the links....I had found others.  Obviously, I don't know much about those cases, so time will tell.  I can say that I've personally conducted or supervised quite a few rape investigations.........I learned long ago not to ever discount the victim.....they are rarely lying.  I wish I knew more about this one.  That would be a deal breaker for me.

OK, so they are both pond scum. If you just accept that and call it a wash, then you are free to look at their policies and positions. Go to both their websites and read the position and plans. They are vastly different!

Take one issue at time. Compare Trump's plans for tax reform and Hillary's plan for tax reform. They actually both have some good ideas. But maybe you will find something you really like or really don't like.

Personally the Estate Tax that Hillary wants to increase is an issue that just galls me! What right does the government have to tax my inheritance? You work 16 hr days and save and build a McDonalds franchise....and when you die your kids have to sell it because they can't afford to pay the inheritance tax on it?

There are lots of issues.....energy:

From Trump's website:

CONTRAST WITH HILLARY CLINTON
o Clinton has vowed to “defend and build on” the Obama Administration’s anti-coal regulations, which has earned her support from environmentalists but led to concerns from labor unions. [Donald J. Trump Press Release, Sept. 7, 2016]
o President Obama’s anti-energy orders have weakened our security, keeping us reliant on foreign sources of energy.
o At the same time President Obama lifts economic sanctions on Iran, he imposes economic sanctions on America. His onslaught of regulations has been a massive self-inflicted economic wound and have denied millions of Americans access to the energy wealth sitting under our feet. This is the American People’s treasure, and they are entitled to share in the riches.
o While Hillary Clinton doesn’t want American energy, she is strongly in favor of foreign energy. Here is what she told China as Secretary of State: o “American experts and Chinese experts will work to develop China’s natural gas resources. Imagine what it would mean for China if China unleashed its own natural gas resources so you are not dependent on foreign oil.” [Donald J. Trump Press Release, July. 31, 2016]

o Hillary Clinton will continue President Obama’s goals of reducing methane emissions by 40-45 percent through standards for both new and existing sources, which will drastically increase the cost of natural gas [Donald J. Trump Press Release, Sept. 7, 2016]
o Hillary Clinton will escalate the war against American energy, and unleash the EPA to control every aspect of our lives: o She declared that “we’ve got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels,” locking away trillions in American wealth.
o In March, Hillary Clinton said: “by the time we get through all of my conditions, I do not think there will be many places in America where fracking will continue to take place.” Keep in mind, shale energy production could add 2 million jobs in 7 years.

o Hillary Clinton says her plan will “put a lot of coal companies and coal miners out of business.” [The Wall Street Journal, Oct. 28, 2015]
o According to the Heritage Foundation, by 2030, the Obama-Clinton energy restrictions will eliminate another half a million manufacturing jobs, reduce economic output by $2.5 trillion dollars, and reduce incomes by $7,000 dollars per person [MilitaryTimes, July 20, 2016]

Why would I look at Trump's website to see Hillary's positions via some made up "contrast"? An informed voter should look at both candidates positions and just compare them!

Why would I look at Trump's website to see Hillary's positions via some made up "contrast"? An informed voter should look at both candidates positions and just compare them!

HAHAHAHA!!!! That's funny.   I"m plenty informed without looking at anything else.  One is a liar and the other is an idiot.......feel free to switch them as needed.  I'm voting for the outsider......let's get the cleansing that will come (one way or another) underway.

She was in command in that one and had Trump on his heels.

really dude....frank luntz WORKS FOR THE GOP to literally spin things and trick people. pretty sure that's his exact job description

You obviously don't follow him very much.  He's been very well known for his tendency to skew the "panels" to favor the Democratic participant.

ABCNews had it:
Trump- 76%
Clinton- 24%

YouGov had a post debate poll with Clinton winning 47% to 42%, but ironically their internals had Trump at 51% to 36% among independents (+15) which didn't make much sense.

There's no question that guys like you and me will almost always see it as our guy/gal won, but what really matters is what the undecideds believe.  The online polls have always been skewed heavily for Trump, but we both know those are not scientific in any way.

I think you and I can both agree that Trump did much better this time then he did in the first debate.

On another node, Wikileaks just released a bunch more Podesta emails.  Not sure if anything juicy yet.

That's it? That's the one claim that Trump sexually assaulted any woman? Nah.Trumps a blowhard when it comes to women and sex....but nobody has ever accused him of assaulting them. He's a dumbarse, but he's not an abuser.

Well, he's currently being sued for rape. So there's that. His hearing is scheduled for December, which will be interesting if he's president elect.

By whom?  What's the source on that?

http://lawnewz.com/high-profile/federal-judge-orders-hearing-in-donald-trump-rape-lawsuit-case/

My thoughts are inline with LB in that victims don't typically lie about stuff like this.  I will say one thing that does raise my BS flag is when the complaint is brought initially as a civil suit.  If there was a crime committed then you go to the police and report it.  If the police are unable to get a conviction due to a high bar to get over then by all means a civil suit is still practical and I have no problem with it.
However when there's no criminal complaint and the huffpo article states that this is the third time she's filed this civil claim.  That tells me it's been thrown out as baseless twice already so I get even more skeptical.

I'm a Trump supporter, but I'm a bigger supporter of real victims of sexual assault so along with LB, this would be a deal breaker if it were true.

Thought I'd ask this question again.

I expect that the recent events wont' have much of an effect on the Trump faithful, but those on the fringe and the voters that Trump's camp have been actively trying to bring on board - undecided, women - will either shift to Clinton or Johnson or not vote at all.

I am undecided and a woman.

Playing the game of he is worse than me, no she is worse than me does not increase my voter confidence. They are both right, they are both pathetic choices.

I really don't know how I'm going to vote.

Exactly. Go to both websites. Trump has done some comparison for you....if you chose to use it...or see if he contrasting is BS and misrepresenting her position.

The point is, look at their positions on various and decide what is most important for the country. Do you support tuition free college for everyone? I talked to a very liberal college senior about this last weekend and she said she is not for it......mainly because she paid her way thru school working and getting loans and doesn't think it would be fair if they made college free tuition.

Good friend of mine in LA 20-odd years ago was out clubbing and pick-up this girl. The were both drunk. They went out to his car and had sex. Afterwards she made some snarky comment. He replied back in kind with something like, "You weren't that good anyway. Get out of my car." After cussing him out good, she left.

The next day at his work, 4 cop cars came screeching into his work parking lot and arrested him for rape. He was in the process of getting an lawyer when he got word that she was dropping the charges.

So it does happen. What's the saying...hell hath no fury like woman scorned.

Imagine what it would mean for China if China unleashed its own natural gas resources so you are not dependent on foreign oil.” [Donald J. Trump Press Release, July. 31, 2016] o Hillary Clinton will continue President Obama’s goals of reducing methane emissions by 40-45 percent through standards for both new and existing sources, which will drastically increase the cost of natural gas [Donald J. Trump Press Release, Sept. 7, 2016] o Hillary Clinton will escalate the war against American energy, and unleash the EPA to control every aspect of our lives: o She declared that “we’ve got to move away from coal and all the other fossil fuels,” locking away trillions in American wealth. o In March, Hillary Clinton said: “by the time we get through all of my conditions, I do not think there will be many places in America where fracking will continue to take place.” Keep in mind, shale energy production could add 2 million jobs in 7 years. o Hillary Clinton says her plan will “put a lot of coal companies and coal miners out of business.” [The Wall Street Journal, Oct. 28, 2015] o According to the Heritage Foundation, by 2030, the Obama-Clinton energy restrictions will eliminate another half a million manufacturing jobs, reduce economic output by $2.5 trillion dollars, and reduce incomes by $7,000 dollars per person [MilitaryTimes, July 20, 2016]
Why would I look at Trump's website to see Hillary's positions via some made up "contrast"? An informed voter should look at both candidates positions and just compare them!
I went to Trump's website. No issue position on "Environment". End of story, can't vote for him. That was easy!

Not a dig on you at all, but I truly find interest in what everyones "number one" issue is.  Environment is way down on my list, but obviously very high on your list.  There's nothing wrong with that, but I always find it interesting.
