Ok, need some opinions here,

I am training to do a sprint (my first) this summer.  Should be ready by begining of summer I'm thinking (actually before then but no races till then).  Would it be too soon to then train for and complete an oly by the end of summer beginning of fall?

Sorry to those who are with me on the other challenge, just wanted to get everyones thoughts.

No, you can easily do a sprint whike you're training for an oly. I did a sprint 3 weeks before my first oly and it really helped me prepare.

Agree.  Have fun with it.

Yeah, what they said.

Don't you hate it when a member from a different team gets TOPPAGE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm good.  I'm working on the post thing.   Tonight I've been trying to figure out a race schedule for this summer.  When do races get posted and where would be a good place to find them?

I like using TriFind.  The race listings on BT aren't too bad either.

Yup! You already asked me.  But since you're so nice, I'll answer you this time, too.

Most of the races I did last year were in Indianapolis.  I really enjoyed the Eagle Creek Sprint.  They do three races over the course of the summer so it was easy to find one that fit my schedule.  Plus, Eagle Creek is a nice venue.  The Carmel Sprint Tri is a great first race experience.  It's a pool swim and a nice flat bike and run.  It was a great way to start off my triathlon adventure.

There's a Best of 2008 thread in the Indiana forum.  Lots of races listed with some "user reviews".  It might give you some more ideas.

Hey Toddies!

Didn't get a run in today - was gonna do a walk to stretch out my body from this weekend, but with temps at or below 0F, I decided I wouldn't get much in the way of relaxing.

Tris next year: either Give Peace a Tri in Keene, NH or Black Fly Tri in Waterville Valley with a bunch of other BTers. I only do one tri a year, so that's it! Planning on bunches of 5Ks and 10Ks, and NOT getting poison ivy from Hades this time!

Trying to lose the pounds by tracking my food. But right now I feel like carp, so not sure how that's gonna play out.

Can't remember what else I was gonna say - I'm WICKED tired tonight. I've already fallen asleep at my desk once, and I've only been here an hour!

Good question!  I WANT to do a HIM.  Really, really bad.  Don't know if it will happen because of hubby's schedule, kid schedule, training times (or lack thereof).  Sooo, an oly for sure and hopefully a HIM.

Another one here too.  Although I've found that a lot of the smaller races in my area have not announced official dates yet so they're not on the site yet
