oh who needs clean clothes when its sunny and you can run or bike instead.

freshly laundered clothes are overrated anyways.

Hi Ghoulies. Interesting day at the office. Because of the heavy rains and flooding, we had a major power outage. A large area went without power for a good part of the day. My office was on a generator for about 5 hours, and only areas of the building deemed "business critical" had lights. Apparently whoever set it up didn't think the restrooms were "business critical" as they were dark as Tom's soul.

Anyway, it turned out to be a fairly productive day...meeting wise but the servers are still down. People were having major internet/e-mail withdrawels. I just came home to change and head out for another ART session. Will catch up when I get back later tonight.

Ann, they are both doing fine. My son jumped off the couch (or "rolled" off the couch when he's telling me the story...), and fell onto his outstretched hand. That happened just over a week ago, and we've been keeping it wrapped in an ace wrap, but it was still bugging him and since we were already there we decided to do the xray. My daughter tripped going up the stairs in the school auditorium yesterday during dance class. No shoes, fell flat on her face, only called me couple hours later to get permission to skip the one mile run test during gym class. Silly girl doesn't know how great running is yet.

Did they do anything for your son since he broke it over a week ago?

Not much they can do for a broken toe, other than write a note excusing her from gym class.

Sending healing juju your way. It's pretty windy here so it should get to you fast!

My son has anew splint and ace wrap, my daughter has her toe buddy taped to the one next to it (which she finds hilarious, BTW. She keeps saying "my toe has a buddy, cuz it's buddy taped! hahaha"), and a lovely post-op shoe (hard, flat soled shoe). Thanks for the ehaling juju. They are both doing fine now, as is their mommy.

I wish!!! I had a lovely Birthday ride on Sunday with hubby and a couple friends, then yesterday was full of other crap. Apparently my daughter broke her toe yesterday at school, and also has a bladder infection (and is a cranky teenager to start with this week). And my son also has a minor fracture just above his wrist. Mondays are always busy for us with one activity right after another, but then throw in 2 separate visits to the urgent care clinic and the fact that I don't have my hubby or parents around to pitch in this week and it was one loooong day and late night at my house. Thank heavens Monday is over!!!

Indeed! I hope your kids recover quickly. Happy belated birthday though! I hope you had a great one.

Well, today was an eventful ride to say the least.

So 6 miles in I hear a pop and realize one of the elastic bands holding my aerodrink bottle had snapped. Decided to keep going and about 6 miles later the other one snapped too. I tried to rig something up to keep it in place but couldn't so I drank what I could and pitched the bottle into a ditch. I am going to pick up some rubber bands and go back for it on my ride tomorrow if its still there. I decide to head back. 3 miles later: flat! I stop and change the tube. Turns out my new CO2/hand pump hybrid is a POS. I'm going back to my old pump. Got the tire back on, slightly underinflated and rode the last 9 miles home, into the 25mph wind. Good times!

Time for dinner and a beer or 3. I'll be back later to catch up
