I'm on a 12x25. But I was thinking of going with 11x23. B2B is pancake flat, but augusta is a bit of a roller.

Stay with the 12-25.  B2B may be flat, but flat usually equals wind.

rode 90 this morning with the new HED 3 on the frront. Wow! really helps on the flats. Only problem was the wind kicked up to 25 mph gusts. I was all over the road.

You'll learn how to "lean into the wind".  I like the noise the HED 3 makes.  If you pair it with a solid disc, you sound like an effin freight train.

Nice! Remember the pictures.

Did you buy a disc or a 404 and a cover?

I was at our local Fleet Feet this morning and got a chance to talk to a local guy who's on Team Timex.  I got a chance to ask him a couple questions about training.

So I want to ask you guys, what's the key to a great triathlon run split?

That's easy - borrow someone else's legs.  Speaking of which, Mark, what are you doing this Saturday?

Internet/BT wisdom is that it's all about bike fitness...

In other news, I just signed up for another race.  The Columbia Tri is a really popular local oly.  I'm not really ready to start thinking about next season yet but registration opened recently and according to everyone I talked to it sells out quickly (ie less than a week) so I didn't have a lot of choice.

If I hadn't gotten my Jet Disc for a steal, I was going to buy a Jet 90 and a cover.  I've seen a 90 and a cover and with a good tape job, they were identical.

Good job on the swim. My longest has been just shy of 3000 and that felt like an eternity.

I'm currently a silver member but it expires in a couple of week. I'm trying to figure out if I want to renew, downgrade or upgrade to gold. The online coaching offered by the gold program seems like a good deal. However it looks like it's limited to the BT training programs. I haven't been using them so I don't know if I would get the full benefit of this. Have you guys had a gold membership before? I'll probably start a thread in the general forums to get some more perspectives but I wanted to get y'alls opinions first.

I've got a gold memebership, mostly because I wanted to support the site as much as possible, and wanted to see all the training programs available. I've never used the online coaching, hell, thats what Marks for. Not saying it's not worth the extra $$, but its probably not.

Okay thinking hard about wheels.  I see a wheelset of Reynolds Assaults Carbon Clincher Wheels 46 deep about 1400 for the pair.  What are your thoughts?  My research shows they can be used for every day use and racing.  Should I go this route or go up in price?  I really don't want to spend more than 2000.

Should I spend the extra $500 and get Zipp Clincher 404's?

Lots of folks around here are riding Reynolds. I think they make a good wheel, but I'm definitely not an expert. Some guru's in this group though that will prolly have better feedback.

No, the Reynolds are light, but the rim uses a airfoil shape instead of the toroidal rim shape that Zipp and HED use.

How much do you weigh, how tall are you?

I don't have any experience with the gold level plan.  But, I was a bronze level member for 3 years.  I let it go because, I've had several run ins with one of the moderators.

Nice!  I haven't yet but I think that's because I don't post very much in the forums. :D

That said, they are very heavy handed.  Someone started a "make me feel better" thread because she was afraid of sharks during an ocean swim.  I replied saying she would be alright because the race was in the morning and sharks generally feed in the evening.  The moderators pulled my post...

foul mouthed hooligans!

do they tell you if they pull your posts? I think I remeber the shark thread. I just try and avoid the TT forum. thats where all the bs talk happens. There are some really good posts in the Iron distance forums. I've also been finding myself over on ST alot lately. Could it be that I'm becoming an Ironman snob?

on another note, I had a box from wheelbuilder on my porch when I got home today. I tore into it like a pride of lions on a gazelle. So freakin setsi! Thats right, Setsi. gotta put a cassette on tomorrow and hopefully get a ride in tomorrow evening. First oly this weekend and would like to adhere to the nothing new on raceday rule.

Arg - Even for my 3.3 miler in May I never got over 2500.  And even that made me want to stab my eyes out (the actual swim I did was great, though).

I did do a "mini-titeloops" today with a 1500yd TT.  Did 21:22 in the drag suit.  Final warmup for the tri this weekend.
