Well...done swim practice #2 of the season. A brisk 2500m and some random stuff. We did an 800m IM set..hahaha. Oh butterfly...I drove home talking to myself about kidneys and how I plan on answering my supervisors questions tomorrow. Ahhh...hopefully I am adequately prepared for him. Eeeeeeek! My bag of food is prepared for tomorrow. My dress clothes are lying out (clinic tomorrow afternoon) and I'm all cozy in bed! night all!

mndymond - 2010-09-14 7:31 PM Well I've been reading up on diabetic management--specifically diabetes management in athletes. Just had a clif bar and have been sitting here trying to figure out how much insulin I would need to take due to the clif bar and how much compensation I would have to make for the fact that I am going to swim for 90min right away. I am so, so, so beyond grateful that I do not have it (or any other chronic condition with difficult management), let's put it that way.

Cheers to health.

I have friends who are diabetic, and my grandfather was, also. Eventually it becomes second nature. I remember when I was a kid my grandfather lived on a farm and had apple orchards. He would sneak in the house and make a sandwich. My grandmother would be so upset with him for having white bread. It was kind of funny.

ironannekidd - 2010-09-15 7:09 AM Hi Bill. What's going on today?

work with a boring training class at 9:00am - booooooooooooo

And yourself Nekkid?

Boring day at work, then I'm running tonight. I'm going to run from the house towards soccer practice. The field is 8 miles away, not sure if I'll get there before practice is over or not. I'd like to get 8 miles in, but I'll be happy with at least 6 tonight.

So, gotta question Ghoulies.

I have not been training really at all for a while.
Should I do my HM Saturday?

No.

1) You could hurt your body
2) You could hurt your pride

Keep running. Keep training. There will be other races.

That is true. But one part of me says I can always stop if things get bad. I really want the finisher medal.
The other part says stay home, heal and you hate running in public anyway.
I am conflicted.

Honestly I wanted to tell you to do it. You could walk if you had to, just keep moving forward. I told you no, and stated the hurting the pride part, because I know you don't like running in public. I don't want you to be down on yourself if you didn't do as well as you hoped you would and be discouraged.

Do I think you can do it? Yes.

Do YOU think you can do it?

MWAH!

Here is one for motivation: my other option is to spend Saturday cleaning the house. I would rather crawl 13.1 than clean toilets and vacuum.
