Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Nads Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge) Good job everyone - no zeros! I ran Sat morning, but I have no internet at home (cue collective gasp and sympathy), so couldn't post until tonight. Still, it'll make next week look better, right? How are we doing percentage-wise? |

Expert 906 Olathe, KS | Subject: RE: Nads Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge) Wow how could the Nads NOT be in 1st with their uninspiring total mile goal?? I mean half the teams have at least twice as many miles to run as the Nads! Heehee just bustin' your nads.....Nads! |

Master 1655 NJ | Subject: RE: Nads Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge) ouch ouch ouch ouch... that was me all day today. I volunteered at a kids tri yesterday and had the fun job of handing out ribbons to the little finishers which was great!! The not so great part was squating down to get 125 timing chips off little legs. 125 full squats - with a "static squat" while down there to get the chip off. Felt fine on the run home but man, today I am one sore Nad. Tomorrow I'll hobble out a few miles with the girls. Happy running everyone! |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Nads Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge) Well, kinda busted the top off the whole 10% rule - went from around 2.1ish to 3.5 today. BUT, I was good and didn't go for the 4.25. Plus, I'm following a plan, so it MUST be right, right? It was a gorgeous September day, too...I  fall a big awful lot. |

Nah - it wasn't about the time - although they did have 1,2,3rd place for each AG, but it was more to make sure nobody got lost on the course. 137 went out, and 137 came back. IT was really funny to see the transition area and the kids in it. Parents yelling to take off swim caps and goggles, take off helmets before the run, volunteers shouting not to "ghost ride" bikes at the dismount line....Happily, almost all parents were being encouraging, understanding and genuinely happy for their kids and everyone else. Only one dad yelling at his kid to beat the other kid to the line. I feel much better today and should be able to get in 3 or so with the girlies in the jogger. Happy running today, folks! |

Phew, that makes me feel better. Glad to hear most people were encouraging! I so hope the overbearing, ubercompetitve parent trend is waning. Ick. What, pray tell, is "ghost riding"? Glad you feel better and got in the jog and t-storm sprint with the munchkins! |

Glad you feel better and got in the jog and t-storm sprint with the munchkins! Is ghost riding just a NJ thang?? It's when you hop off your bike and basically give it a good push from the handlebars and it keeps going foward-ish till it crashes to the ground. It's a decent way to make T2 a little quicker I guess. It's a beautiful fallish day here in NJ - low humidity and crystal clear. Gonna opt for some more slow going with the stroller instead of speed work on the T-mill. Happy day Nads! |

I think we called that "hope Mom doesn't see". I can see how you would have to curb that little maneuver in T2. Got in a run, yay! Hope everyone else is doing well! Go NADS!!! |

Good job - you should totally be in Team WCP&T! Goin' for a run in the morning, and totally looking forward to it. The transition to cold-weather running is taking a lot of mental steeliness, but I am determined to learn how to run in the cold. I want to do some snowshoe races this winter to stay motivated, so I guess I'd better learn quick! |

Master 1655 NJ | Subject: RE: Nads Team Thread (Sept Run Challenge) Cold weather running? Already?? Good for you - Im impressed. It's always hard for me to get used to the chillier temps after the summer. We won't have to worry about that for a while though - for my tri tomorrow with a 9am start time, it's supposed to be high 80's and crazy humidity. I'll be right back in the lake after the run! Yesterday I didn't work out at all, felt guilty about it and wound up eating everything in sight. Today will be better. Have a wonderful day everyone!! |
