Subject: RE: North v SouthI know I have to say something nice about the North, and I do love it up here, but I just love the South, especially the deep South, namely Australia.
In any case let me just say:
Snowboarding
Snowboarding
Snowboarding
Crisp clean air and a pure white blanket of snow crunching under your snowshoes.
Cabane à Sucre (Sugar Shack with a bunch of food - all bad for you - coated in maple syrup ).
Maple Syrup - no no no, not the crap you get, the real stuff. No, not the stuff they say is real, the real, real stuff. Once you have had it, you call the other stuff what we call it, sirop de poteau (basically syrup from a telephone pole ).
Cross country skiing fast wearing only your thin base layer because even though it's -5, you're really moving.
The whisper of the wind through leave-less trees.
The colour (that's right coloUr ) of the sky on a clear cold day.
Spending the day outside and spending the night inside by a roaring fire.
And that's just the winter... |
