Big Appa - 2013-04-10 2:35 PM Tony is not really a DB he just plays one on BT.

Have you confirmed that with him.. does he actually think that he's playing a DB?

Just seeing the picture of that sign make my butt hurt.

Are you looking at the pic of Tony and I?

Are you licking his head?

Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Um Kate that is Tony licking my head

Yeah I'm the DB with hair. He's the bald DB.

Imagine that you've just crossed into Texas from Louisiana.  You've probably been driving at least since New Orleans on I-10 for about 3.5 hours.  You look up and try to resist the urge to commit Hari Kari:

Wow. That sign makes me want to kick kittens and punt puppies.

Why drive to El Paso when there is a winery right there to the right.

Something about wine from east Texas scares me. I mean , it's a tad swampy for vineyards. Of course it does say 'winery' and not 'vineyards.' I'm guessing they get their grapes from HEB or Kroger.

Nearly three full pages on a thread about a mass stabbing and NO ONE has mentioned or noticed that this happened right after Ray Lewis retires?

Fail.

Or any reference to bringing a knife to a "none" gun fight...

mdg2003 - 2013-04-09 3:38 PM Why does Tony hate Texas?

Trust me, you got it backwards.

Texas and I had a mutual affinity for each other. I loved most of it. The eight-hour drives through West Texas weren't awesome.
We don't take too kindly to your kind 'round here, son.....
When people in Texas say `It's just down the road.' that means an eight-hour drive. Or in Texas speak: `A couple cases of beer.'

True story and "fixin ta" doesn't mean they are getting ready to anytime soon.  It means "maybe someday I'll do that."

Holy carp I forgot about that -- I actually picked up that gem. My friend here would say `Why do you need to fix to do anything, just do it!' Good people down there, though they often overestimate their ability to play football.

Which is why Nebraska owns Texas in football. Oh, wait.

When I was 18 I left home for the Navy and did boot camp in San Diego.  I flew home to PA, bought a truck and drove back.  I started in PA so I didn't come in on Rt 10 but I still recall the route being 81-40-30-20-10-8.

I lived in Austin and made the trip back and forth to NO plenty of times.  I've seen that sign and it's near near Vidor, TX.  Guys that I went to school with (SW Texas) told my naive Yankee self all sorts of creepy stories about that place.  I have no idea whether they were true but supposedly, the place has a bad reputation and they made fun of me for not being aware of the area. <shrug>

Because Painted Dunes is (at least it used to be) a gorgeous golf course in El Paso.

90% of what you hear about Vidor is true.
