Master 1686 Royersford, PA | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Reached and past right on by my bike goal for the month. I'm 4 miles short of my run goal as well. The big question is should I finish that off tommorrow or wait till Sunday for the Ugly Mudder. Even with a fallback week coming up I have a good shot at reaching 400/100 this month. Thanks for the challenge. Finish Strong!! Go Green team!! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Almost there, guys and gals! Finish strong. I'll be right on track to finish 800 mins (roughly 90 miles) of running IF I: 1. Get out and run ~14 miles tomorrow (26 F w/freezing rain, might be a tough one). 2. Catch up on the hour that I'm behind for this month. We can see the finish (remember next week's a SHORT week). |

Extreme Veteran 506 Twin Cities, MN | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Well I am not going to even come close to making my goals. I am having HUGE issues with my hamstrings...I'm doing what I can, but riding isn't even on the radar right now. I am stretching like crazy but it's not seeming to help. I don't know if overall stress & tension can make hamstring tightness worse, but something is definitely out of whack with my body... |

Master 1686 Royersford, PA | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Well I met my goal for the month during the Ugly Mudder today. Good thing, because now I'm sidelined for about a week. Slid down an icey hill right into a rock on the trail. Finished the last mile of the race no problem, but discovered a nice little hole in my shin and needed a trip to the ER, a couple of Xrays (negative thankfully), a tentnus shot and 4 stitches. So the totals for the week and the month with be 400.5 miles bike and 84 bikes run. So much for the 400/100 idea, but made both my stated goals. Go Green Team. Good luck Paul on the Oscars. My kids loved that movie. |

Regular 97 Long Island | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants I don' think I'll make my goals this month. Rookie mistake, got in over my head. 50 hours bike 20 hours run. I'm new to BT and this was my first challenge. In the beginning I saw a post warning to plan for injuries. At the time it made no sense. How do you plan for injuries they just happen right. Well I learned my lesson. They do just happen you can count on that. It has still been a great experience. I can't wait for the next one. Sorry to let the team down but I did do my best. Go Green. |

Extreme Veteran 382 Quebec City | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants LeCrac : Please Tell us about the underground 5Km race ? Well, I had a ball! It was much harder than I thought (lots of stairs). Very dry.... They had 2 water points on a 5 k course and I used both of them........ I really went hard and toasted my legs I ran at lunch but not the 10 k schedule....... So if things dont go better I maybe a little short for the challenge. I dont want to hurt myself and jepardize my season. Sorry but I still do my best! Go Mean Greenies! |

Veteran 196 Parrish, Florida | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants I'm with trigirl...I absolutely hate the fact that I'm not going to meet my goals this month. This is only my third full month of training and haven't learned yet to factor in the possibility of illness (though I rarely get sick). On the positive side, I'm all better now and will do what I can to bump those numbers by tomorrow to help out the team. Sorry all...I'll get it next time!!! |

Member 50 Ottawa, Ontario | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Alright Guys, I know I've really been lagging but I got a great run in yesterday and a solid bike in this morning and I'm planning on a run this afternoon. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna finish my goals... I really wasn't sure how to set them as this was my first challenge. They were probably very doable but last week was my reading week at school and I really slacked! Anyways... I'm going to finish strong and try and get as close as I can... the last 48 hours are going to be hardcore! Good luck Giants! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants 2 more days, 2 more hours of running, and I'll be at 100% for the running portion. Wish me luck! For the injured/sick: Buck up, you got some awesome training in for February, that's the important thing. A challenge is never worth injury. There's always next month : http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=67403 |

Master 2055 Santa Clarita | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Green Team Rocks ! Only 36 hours to go ! I had really planned on being done with all the running much earlier but a trip away and some fatigue slowed my progress. I will have to squeeze one more 2 miler in to Hit quota . If you going to squeeze one more workout in , may i suggest you lower the intensity to 65 -75% of max effort . The training will still be effective and you will recover quicker for the next workout and stay healthy. Train Smart and Race Well. Good Hunting GREEN ies ! |

Pro 4541 A farming town in MN | Subject: RE: February Bike & Run Challenge - GREEN Giants Ouch, fell short on my running, but so close...between the unexpected snow, Cub scouts, and off-site work demands, my runs fell short. BUT, I got close...about 90% of my run miles in (keeps me honest with for my upcoming marathon--you reap what you sow ). Couldn't have done it without this challenge, and our fearless captain Paul (Van_Paulus). Thanks Paul... I'm in for next month. I hope work and weather cooperate a little more... http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=67403 |
