What are everyones plans for the week? Hey guys I will get 3 to 4 rides this week for sure and I may even do one today after my swim this afternoon. I am coming off a 15 hour week of training for last week. All my races are in July, August and Sept. so I have been trying to pick up the effort as the first Tri is the end of July. I am hoping to knock off another 100+ miles this week on the bike. Hope everyone else is doing well and hopefully we can make up some ground on these other teams this week. What races are you planning on doing? I have 4 Tri's and a Marathon that I am signed up for: 7/29 Riverhead Rocks, Riverhead NY - Oly, 8/5 Smith Point Tri, Shriley, NY - Sprint 8/19 Deep Pond Tri, Wading River NY - Sprint, 9/30 Might Man Half Iron Distance Tri, Montauk NY 11/4 ING NYC Marathon Very nice, quite a few races late in the season. It's my first season doing Tri's so I didn't do any of the earlier races that I could have done in May or June just to give myself more time to get ready. I can't wait to get that first one in the books though. Makes sense just a couple of weeks left until the first are you ready? I think so but like all triathletes I still worry whether I am or not and if I've done enough training especially for the swim. I know I can do the distances I just need to trust in the training I put in for this. For your first one, have fun, take it all in and remember to thank the volunteers : ) |

Expert 2380 Mastic Beach, NY | Subject: RE: Liquigas-Cannondale TDF Challenge Thread Well I got another stage completed today with a 2 hour 36 mile ride. Unfortunately it was not uneventful, first one of my aerobars was loose so I had to stop and head home to fix it because the tools I had with me couldn't reach the bolt in order to tighten it. Then riding my last loop of the day my arm rest broke on the same side my aerobar loosened up, one of the two bolts that mount it to the bracket on the aerobars snapped cleanly. I can't fix it so I will be off to the bike shop tomorrow morning but other than that it was a actually a pretty enjoyable ride. Hope everybody is doing well. |

Thanks guys and absolutely the number one goal for me is to have fun and enjoy the day. The second goal would be to just make sure I finish and try and do it in the best time that I can without killing myself. |

Expert 2380 Mastic Beach, NY | Subject: RE: Liquigas-Cannondale TDF Challenge Thread Hey guys bad news I just got back from the bike shop and had to leave my baby there. Looks like they will need to order a new bracket from 3T for the aerobar so I am out of comission on the bike. So the question I have it can I get my work in on my stationary bike and will it count? If so I am good as that's how I'll be getting my bike training in until I get my bike back. |

That is very true I miss being on the bike and I found out today that the part has been ordered and I am looking at best case Thursday but more likely Friday or Saturday getting it back. It looks like I will have to finish out the challenge on the exercise bike. I will definitely making every effort to hit my goals, next ride is tomorrow. |

I don't think we are out of this thing just yet so anything you can do would help us get back into the race. I only have one more segment but a few more miles, I'll be putting in miles tonight, long ride Saturday and a mtn bike on Sunday so should be able to get everything in. Also Liquigas will have a guy on the podium, wish he would have kept attacking though, kind of gave it up. |
