Ron or anyone, for the technically challenge people, I don't see how to add the fonts/colors ect given in your example. I see the comments field but not the choices. What am I doing wrong. Also you mention stuff you can do with your posts. I don't see that either. Not a big deal but was wondering what I am missing.

This is a suggestion:

I like to view my total weekly training time (eg 13 total hrs between swimming, biking, running, strength training) as it is incredibly valuable in periodization. I noticed that the only way to graph weekly mileage is by AVERAGE training time for the week (eg. if you went for 3 - 2hr long bike rides in one week, it only graphs 2 hrs for cycling that week, not 6). Any plans to add in this graphing functionality in the near future?

definitely...since learning more about periodization myself months ago, graphing total hours by week, month and year will be no problem and something that is important.

next updates (ideally) in a month or two

 - graph total hours (week/month/year)

- other user 'fixes' and additions noted earlier

 - copy/delete whole blocks of log data to other days, weeks or months (will be specific  - ex, just run, bike and swim data, OR strength, OR comments, OR everything)

 - hope to add health data (fatigue, %bodyfat, soreness, etc AND graphing of this)

 - bring the 'race reports' into a forum-style area INSTEAD of the '10 most recent'

Click settings from the menu bar then scroll "Use rich edit box when composing messages?" to yes and then you'll get tool bars like MS Word in your message box and you are in buisiness!

Yo Ron,

Thanks for all your hard work on this project - I'm not a newbie, I'm actually a vet (6 yrs) who decided to FINALLY start logging my workouts. I started to do it in excel, but I think I would have gone insane trying to design something like what you've got here.

About the graphs - thanks for working on the weekly total time stuff - I appreciate that! It will be invaluable when building in periodization. Also, for the health data section - try to add a 'feel' column. Summarizes your general feel of the day or workout.

New user here but not new to the sport (just shy). I've been looking for a log/plan combo and found your tool. Its fantastic but is there a way to combine the training plans into the log so that you can see week by week what you SHOULD be working on versus what you have done?

Thanks,

Cory

hmmm...interesting...i have mulled that over...a part for 'plan' and a part for 'actual'....

similiarly, by the end of this year and after some more big updates, i def plan to be able to 'download' the plans from the site directly into your logs....

i have a long list of more crucial updates that will log more data, graph more, user suggestions, integrate race reports and copy/move/delete whole log blocks of data...

i will be starting a 'donations' secton in a few weeks to help offset my cost and to speed developement of the functions YOU want.

i will never charge for this (i know, u prolly r seeing the trend in other logs currently and profess skepticism) AND i hope to never have to sell banner space in teh logs...i hope donations from happy users will be enough to cover server expenses and new functions.  i have a full time job to pay for family stuff, i never want to make profit from the logs.  so hopefully the donations will work.

wow...that was long winded...what tangent did i go off to?

Ron,

The site and the features are amazing...I'm part of a fledgling group in Washington, DC (www.dctriclub.net) and we've recently migrated from a listserve to a more useful web site. We have a "board of directors" which means we've split up the responsibility of keeping the group active in all senses. I'm trying to help the web master out by doing some of the more mundane tasks so he can focus on the more intensive issues.

Thanks for the reply, though. Each year I wind up modifying a log so that I can see what my week will look like and especially in the begining of training when I haven't yet worked up to 6-8 workouts per week and two in one day, its tough to remember where I'm supposed to be, what I'm supposed to be doing, etc...to keep on track.

I'll definately list your site as a "very useful" tool and hope our "newbies" check it out.

Cory

Subject: RE: Suggestion on Improving RaceFinder
Hi Ron,
Here's a suggestion for improving the race finder .... not sure its been brought up before.

Some people have entered their State spelled out in full - other use the post code aberrviation.
So, a query for Illinois does not return the races of those who entered their state as IL, for example.

A suggestion would be to have the query translate one to the other. If the backend application is done on Unix I might be able to help out with that too.

Any thoughts to adding a shoe tracker (or any other equipment, maybe bike) to the training log? I know it would be a great help so I know when to change out shoes as to prevent injuries (which I've had because I didn't change them out on schedule).

This is one of the best training logs free for paide for anywhere!
