Thanks... I'm excited and a little "sceared".... I've never ridden aero's before... Ummm I dont have any but they do make steering a little hrder but are great for a straight line... you come out of aero for climbing and cornering... Some corners can be taken in aero but you gradually work up to it with practice. Places like an empty carpark are great to practice cornering and turning in a safe environment! I suppose next week I'll get to start a crash count. Let's hope it stays low Try just riding the hoods at first. Just get to know this bike. Once you have a couple of rides on the hoods, find a nice, flat straight road with very little traffic and go one arm at a time into the aerobars. The bike will be very touchy and sensitive to any movement when you are aero. This is normal. You will get used to it. The first time I went aero on my tri bike, I was all over the road and even crossed the center line a couple of times. I was surprised because I had clip-ons on my road bike and raced in those. The tri bike was a lot more narrow and aggressive. Keep pedaling. Pedaling keeps you steadier. Pretty soon, you will be a pro! |

The speaker for that mandatory thing was good but I just don't think all these suggestions are really that practical in the hospital (particularly ER) setting. They're going to start som mandatory 10 minute "team huddle" BS starting next week at the beginning of each shift. HA, a consistent time for each shift to do that huddle? We have NO CONTROL over what rolls into the department and WHEN it rolls in--can be quiet now and crazy in the next 5 minutes with the proverbial line at triage or squads rolling in... |
