Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge piggpen35 - 2008-10-02 4:15 PM I'm in this because I was inspired by Abbie too! That and I am doing the Lake Stevens HIM next August and I need to seriously cut weight and am looking to get skinny (Well... Skinnier!) by spring when my 20 weeks of REAL training starts. I'd like to do this all winter long! Brad and Leanne.....thanks guys. Glad I can inspire you Oh and update on my training today, wound up not getting my run in, but walked for an hour...logged it as running, see my log if you want details. |

It will hopefully get me to take tha fat wobbly dog out for a bit of much needed exercise...and maybe the husband! I'll shoot for 31. Thats a GREAT plan. I get my wife and 4 year old out for a walk / run about 2x per week. My 4 year old can run a mile (it takes her about 16-17 minutes... I can't imagine how many steps that is for her she is only 3'5'')around our neighborhood no problem now! SHE has NO issues with weight! Its a great opprotunity to get a little "family time" |

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: October Peach Challenge arnoldro - 2008-10-02 2:36 PM I have joined the Peach challenge because I also don't have any races until next year and I am still deciding what races to do. I want to make sure that in the meantime I keep active so I don't gain any weight and I can increase my distance for next years races. This was my first year in triathlon and I completed a sprint distance and next year I am definitely going to do an Olympic distance triathlon. However I am very tempted in signing up for a HIM as Muskoka is only 2 hours from where I live. Anyone else think that may be biting off more than I can chew? Might as well go for an HIM next year. This was my first year of Tri-ing and I did one in August. The training volume is a big step up, but as long as you work diligently and put the time in an HIM is definitely doable. Sign me up for this challenge! After a very sporadic September's worth of training I need some discipline. Yesterday was a 10 mile run. Today was 30 minute Spinervals and 30 minutes of circuit training Edited by disturbed275 2008-10-02 8:26 PM |

If you keep adding a little at a time, ten comes pretty quick. Shortly followed by a half marathon and then a full marathon and so forth. Great job on the 2 for 2, keep it up and you will see a solid month. I unfortunatly will have a little green in my month since I have the Denver Marathon half way threw the month. |

I didn't see where you mentioned what you are doing though? (native San Diegan very curious!) Actually in SD for business, headed back to San Fran tomorrow morning and then racing in the Bay area on Sunday. NOt sure it's really a race, over 3,300 feet of climbing in 10+ miles....more like a suffer-fest and trying to hold back tears of pain and cursing myself for ever signing up for "this f-in race!" Ha ha, but I'm looking forward to pushing myself and seeing what Magnum (new road bike's name) and I can accomplish together |

Tomorrow should be interesting trying to squeeze something in. I'm supposed to be tailgating at the Iowa State game in the morning. Perhaps I can convince my girlfriend to walk to the stadium..... |
