OK, since the teams are going to be uneven the winner for the challenge will be determined by a percentage instead of most points.  I would hate for the team with the most team members win because of the unfair advantage.

Hi everyone, should be a fun November!

I am Scott, father of four now.  I am coming off a year of rather unfocused and semi unstructured training and a month of really sporadic stuff.  Looking forward to this challenge to re-introduce  some consistency into the regimen.  Also to start on some core work.  Big goal for 2009 is a marathon so I want to start building a solid foundation now.

Lets have a great month.

Hi team!

I'm Laura, 27, married to the loon who started this challenge.    This year was my second tri season, but my overall focus for the year as a whole has been running.  Have completed 3 half marathons and am training for another one in January (RnR AZ).  Hoping to run my first full marathon and do my first half ironman next year.  I'm just starting a new job as a Nutrition Coach at a large health club, and while theoretically I should have no excuse NOT to get workouts in working in that environment, my new work schedule will be pretty busy for the next few weeks and will take some getting used to.  SO...this challenge should be good for keeping me motivated to make sure I fit it in.

I've never knitted.  I'm not that coordinated with artsy-craftsy things.  And I either didn't know or had forgotten that tlnewman30 had knitted as a kid til I read this thread.  Huh!  The things we learn on BT.

herro everyone!

I know Laura, Lauren and Susan and am very exicted to meet everyone else.

Um, I'm 31, live in Denver, work for a Big Defense Contractor for an Air Force program, recently separated from Army (so no more organized PT for me!), spent all of 2007 miserable in Iraq missing out on too many races, so I somewhat overdid it in 2008.  I completed my first Oly and HIM this summer and ran my 2nd marathon, did my 2nd century, 2 1/2 marathons and bunch of trail races. This winter I'm working on my swim. I'm actually more proud that I got the Boyfriend into these endurance type things - he's in great shape but didn't run longer than a 10k. But after cheering me on at the Oly earlier in the summer, he signed up for swim lessons and started training for a marathon.

Quite excited to meet everyone.  This challege will get me off my post-season-expanding-booty. Laughing

Norine

Good for you!  I'm planning a ride (because we're expecting snow next week) and a swim (because I have my 1st swim lesson Monday and want to get used to the water again before then).  That means tearing myself away from BT which I have missed the last month

Hello team, I'm looking forward to a good month of training. I just finished my 2nd tri season and looking to build my base for a HIM next season. Started the month with a nice run this morning. Good luck everybody.

I can give it a try if I have to.  Not promising that I'm smart enough to get it done though.

I just got back from a wacky football game!  I'm a bit a wiped from being up since the crack of dawn but I don't want to waste this unseasonable warm weather.  I'm thinking I should be able to get in a short nappy nap then hit the road for a run.  And tomorrow I am going to get on my bike and ride!  I'm guessing this weekend might be the last chance for a warm ride.

Hi all,

I'm Leigh, 40-ish, live in Portland, and completed my first tri last summer after losing 50#.

I knit and am currently working on this tank top

and am lusting after this kit. I had no idea that Ravelry has a Triathlon knitting group. BRB...

I also sew, garden and play with a corgi.  Oh yeah. I have this job thing I go to during the day. I'd ditch it, but it pays for all of the above cool things that are fun.

My hubby and I train for most things together, but he doesn't like swimming. I do that on my own. I'm looking forward to this challenge as it will get me off my azz when I'd really rather be cuddling on the couch with my corgi, some hot tea and my knitting.

Abbie, can I borrow some of your shoes????   You're a 9, right???? Oh I hope so...

That red sweater is AWESOME! So hot. I'm not good enough yet to knit that.

Ravelry has a tri knit group?!

Wow, those knitted tops are amazing!  Last time I knitted my kids were very small and I used big needles and thick yarn to make them sweaters and pants.  Pretty sure I don't have the patience for those other projects.

Congrats on the weight loss and your 1st tri!

My husband trains w/ me, too, but he won't run, which works fine -- my dog Moose runs with me.

Here is (hopefully) a list that will go to each person's logs and this thread. It appears to work in my blog, however sometimes when these things get cut and pasted, things blow up. See what you get.

AV842 does not have logs that are public, so there's no way to link to other than his profile. AV, if you want to allow viewing, I'll add your link to the list.
