jacasa - 2008-12-16 11:46 AM  Yeah, just like the following who are from the great Buckeye state:... Ron Zook (Illinois)...

(stifling giggle)

Bless your heart.

I actually know Ron Zook personally. When he coached at Ohio State he lived across the street from us. He may not have won the games that Gators fans want to see, but you won't find a classier, more sincere person. He and his family are MUCH better off at Illinois!

Yeah, who needs all that winning getting in the way of happiness?

About Ron Zook - I've heard mixed things about him in person, some glowing, some ... not so much. What sealed it for him at UF was the incident on the fraternity house lawn. That said, it sounds like he may have learned from that and focused his energies where they belong. I wish him the best at Illinois and hope he has a long and successful career there.

PSU, OSU, UW and Iowa will all win their bowl games.  NW has a chance, Minnesota, not so much and MSU could pull it off.

Yes, Texas is good but nobody in the Big 12 plays any defense.  OSU can play defense and the fact that Pryor will be going against the so so defense of Texas gives OSU the edge.

USC vs. PSU is much more of a tossup in my mind.  Yes, USC won the pac 10 this year but the pac 10 was bad bad bad.....

Oh, for the other BSC games:  Florida, Cincy and Bama will win.

Ummm so far not so good for the big10...Uw absolutely blown out by FSU

newleaf - 2008-12-11 6:18 AM Hee hee, I love it, the OP picked the Big 10 to go 0-fer.
SHOCKING!!!!!
And all the Florida teams won too? I'm aghast

As of right now Big 10: 0-1, Florida schools 3-0 (with the head to head of Florida schools vs big 10 being an absolute demolishing of the Badgers by FSU...) Two more Florida schools to play, Miami and UF

So you may be "aghast" but so far I'm right.

No excuses!

Tough loss for my Tarheels today. Bad fumble late which led to a TD for WVU and a horrible pick late. Great season and hopefully a building block to a major bowl next year.

Bring on Hoops!

Like I said, the better team would win and they did. Still love my Buckeyes and looking forward to September 5th!

P.S. The Buckeyes played a good game and put themselves in a situation where they had a chance to win against a very good team. Can't ask for much else! GO BUCKS!

The OP (that's me) didn't pick a single Big 10 team to win a bowl game.  I have to apologize, I sincerely underestimated the strength of the Big 10, I was clearly wrong...the conference won 1 game....(1-6)

Still "aghast"?

No worries, just giving you a little hell. I thought you guys had it in the bag at the end; the only thing I was hoping was that we were about to encounter the reverse of what happened at Tech(went up with a couple minutes left, but left too much time on the clock). Somehow Colt managed to get them down the field when it counted.

The Buckeyes are going to be a hard team to defend next season if Pryor can get better at passing.

Nope, worse next year.  All indications are that Beanie Wells is going to turn pro. (Although given their typical easy schedule they will probably only have one loss going into the Michigan game)
