Are you signed up for the No Sugar New Year Challenge, which starts on Monday?   It's going to be a tough one, but it is definitely something that will benefit lots of us.

Wow, that's brutal.  Not even splenda in the morning coffee. I don't think I'd even bother.  I wouldn't last a week!  Which is why I should do it.

Hey, group!  I'm Rick...thanks for having me as part of your group.

I'll post a profile shortly, but looks like I'm already playing catch-up with some of you rockstars...hehe!  This should be fun, and Bob's completely right, I do need a kick in the Arse!  Looking forward to motivating, inspiring, sharing, and training...

And for a training update, tomorrow is the start....I'll try to knock down 7 good days of training before I have to stop for a vacation to NYC, but then should be rolling into the new year.

There's no vacationing in triathlon.  :-)  We'll make sure you get your training up to par in the new year.  Have a good vacation!

I'm a huge sweets person, so it's going to be extremely tough for me; however, I want to make the last 30 pounds go away and I want to become faster for my races next summer.

Somebody point me to par!  Seriously, it'll get much more structured after the first of the year. Until then....ya never know.

SweetK - 2008-12-21 5:34 PM Welcome Rick

Why thank you. What's YOUR name?!

Just don't blow out your knee due to impatience. Every time I've tried to circumvent the 'tried and true', I end up worse off than when I started. Enthusiasm, tempered, please.

Allright, who had a solid workout today?

I'll go first. Not me. I start tomorrow.

I had a workout today, but I wouldn't say it was solid.  Just a slug-fest in the pool.

Tomorrow, I have a bike workout on the trainer before work and a run after work.

SweetK - 2008-12-21 5:34 PM Welcome Rick After 2 days post-op I took myself out for lunch and shopping. Plus, when I got home I did some ab and core work. I think next week, I'll be on my trainer and in the pool. I've bagged the crutches already. I'm ready to train...so ready, and I'm a bit impatient to recover. This group is going to be fun!

That's excellent news!  Glad that it went so well.  You should be all set for the Rose Bowl! Cool

Hey Rick - welcome - one of the MI crew I see. Cool

I just did my ab stuff.  Better than nothing!  We had 60 people over last night for a Christmas party, so I'm pretty tired from that.  Lots of fun!

The Rose Bowl.  I can't wait!  I'm so happy that PSU didn't make it to the national championship game, as the Rose Bowl starts earlier in the day and I will be able to watch the entire game.

Awesome chatter!! I'm just heading down to the trainer for a 90 min ride while watching American Flyers!! Motivation at it's best! Maybe not as good as IMWI 2007 but in the same ballpark!!

Keep up the great work everyone!!

Nice swim Barb!!

Nice excuse Rick!! (Jab-Jab) I'll be looking for a good workout tomorrow from you!

Nice bike in the rain today, not too long but enough to test out the wet weather gear. Only three of us showed up from the bike club, all are triathletes, what does that say!

Okay, 60-90 mintes on the trainer (8:30-10 EST) while watching the G-Men tonight.  Babysitting got cancelled at the gym due to snow this AM so I could not go.  So 1 swim this week and no run today which is bad, but at least I took a 2 hour nap with the 8 month old. Woke up when she bit my nose, which now is not that fun since he has a tooth stub.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and happy training next week.  I think I am going to try to do a 45 minute each SBR on Xmas day with anyone wants to "join" me.

Had a 70 minute trek on the treadmill this morning followed by some heavy eating for a little Christmas gathering.

Cut the ride a bit short, 60 min. I got off just before the Hell of the West race started. Great movie!

Ouch on the nose biting!!

Not even splenda?  Sweet mother of Moses!  No need for me to sign up.  I wouldn't make it out of the first morning!

-37???  OMG!  Dude if it's +37 in SC, I consider it too cold to ride my bike outside.  Heck it was low 40's this afternoon and I was cold!
