Maybe I'm the only person on the planet who has never looked at Facebook?  This doesn't incline me to change my mind.

Lots of people hate cyclists.  Ride accordingly.

Along this same line...has anyone seen this website before?

http://sharethedamnroad.com/

good idea..uh sort of,..I guess. Not sure I would want to tempt/incite drivers any more than necessary and that could do the trick. "DON'T HONK AT ME"...now that is just asking for it!!

I think those Jerseys just infuriate drivers more.

to whoever created the FB page... take your family for a walk on one of those paths when a cyclist is training, one in each direction.  I ll bet they believe it to be a pedestrian path then...

There are very few of those paths where I live, and I have the luxury of many rural roads... but the quesiton has to be asked ( maybe it has, I did not read all of the posts)- where would those folks prefer that a cyclist train?  Honest question... if the answer is the pathways, I refer back to the opening sentance.

I guess I just do my best to respect the cars and drivers.  I try to ride as far off the line as I can (it helps me practice keeping the bike steady) If Im in the road, I understand Im in the way... but to condone running me over and injuring me because of that... unreal.  For the sake of what, 3, 5- maybe 7 seconds delay in pasing the bike... these people condone personal injury as a reult of a fraction of a minute's delay- ... I was brought up different...

+1

Those jerseys have a bit of a chip on their shoulder. As a cyclist/runner, I'd be a little insulted by those jerseys if I were driving by.

I concur.  As a motorcyclist and a bicyclist I make eye contact, don't go blazing through stop signs and red lights, and wave cars through or past when appropriate.  I frequently give a loud "thank you" to motorists who wave me past when they see me approaching as they are pulling out of places, etc.

I also don't ride 15-20mph in a pack in a 45-55 mph zone, ride on a road when there is a clear shoulder, flip off drivers who do pass, etc.  It's all about mutual courtesy out there.  There are plenty of idiots on both sides which will naturally make it rough on everyone.

why do you consider them idiots?  i have ridden in a large group, 150 riders, meets every saturday, with a group that size where else do you want them to ride?

should they be dispanned and ride in group of 5 people?  would that work better? or maybe 150 riders spread by 10 feet increments....i mean there is always goig to be someone that sees something differently.
