I highly recommend, that if you ever have the chance...

You go to the Rose E Schneider YMCA. Look for the coolest chick there. Then tell them you are looking for the most UBER FAB LIFEGUARD CERTIFIED TRI HOTTIE THAT PITTSBURGH HAS EVER SEEN.

Then brace yourself.

I did not run today. I debated long and hard about the decision. I talked with friends about it Friday night. I talked to Stacie about it Saturday. And in the end it was not worth hurting myself more to run the race. My hamstring is hurt, it hurts all the time, it is spasming often. I want to be healthy so I can start training for the MCM.

I didn't make the final decision until I was getting dressed this morning. The race started at 7:30, I think the rain started about 7:38. I felt better about my decision after the rain, running on a wet slippy course would not have done good things for my leg.

Instead of running I went and handed out water with Stacie's tri club. I got rained on, had water splashed on me, had water spilled on me, and by the time we were done I thought my arm was going to fall off. I had a good time. I have a new appreciation for the volunteers now.

I have some time now to step back, regroup, swim, stretch, strength train, and hopefully bike, before I start running again. My next race isn't until the end of July.

Hi Ann! Sounds like a smart call today. It sounds like your hamstring was definitely in need of some rest, and I'm glad you did the smart thing. I also have a new found respect for volunteers after my adventures in de-chipping land. Hopefully your athletes were as grateful as ours were!

Ann, sounds like a really smart call.  After the dust settles, I am going to harass you about seeing an md/dc/pt about your hamstring.  I do not want to line up at MCM without you.  Until then, way to go and great job volunteering.

Holy Schmoly, guys! Page 4? That's all you got??? Just kidding, I'm sure we'll be back upto 20 plus per day in no time.

Quick(ish) update on me: feeling better (finally--yay!!), the inlaws came to town, I rearranged my work schedule to go with the family to a supercross race...in the rain and snow...with inlaws who have bad backs and walk with canes and failed to mention that they were sick and didn't want to sit out in 35 degree temps while it rained/snowed on them for a couple hours...up bleachers that are so wet there is a small stream coming down them...we didn't last long, to say the least...  My boy turned 8 today!!! Had a good family party, yummy "hot tamale" ice cream cake...thank heavens for Cold Stone Creamery. We had to postpone his "friend" party because of the weather--it's kinda hard to drive go-carts outside in the rain and cold. Brrr. Hubby is gone again--his flight left Salt Lake about an hour ago.

Oh, yeah, and I'm going to actually exercise again in the near future. Promise. No. really. Soon. It'll happen. I mean it.

Maybe I'll start with a little p90x yoga...

Good call. I am sure it was really hard to make that decision, but you did the right thing! Now get into some treatment ASAp so you can be ready for the MCM.

Pics could be evidence to be used at a later date.

I can verify though that the guy at Mad Mex is in fact uber cute and nice.
