pdbman - 2010-07-02 12:46 PM Spreadsheet updated with my goals for the month. Its a little more aggressive for me but I'm going for it. I'm trying out a new daily routine that will allow a little more time for training that shouldn't interfere with family time. We'll see how it goes.
That's fine. It's not like I'm going to taser you this month if you miss your goals. After all, this month, you're my competition. LOL (Actually, I'm not sure I'll be able to make my goals either. Got some projects coming due at work. But I figured that if I don't set goals, I won't do anything!)

Yeah we all know you better than that. Its not like you carry a taser around in your purse so you can whip it out for every opportunity that may arise.

Um. Who puts it in a purse? That would slow down access time.

I'm in!  I can't access the spreadsheet here at work and I'm going to be away most of the weekend, but put me on a team and I'll add my goals Mon or Tues.

My name is Bill, I like long, romantic walks on the beach and... Oh, wait... wrong website.  I'm training for a HIM in September and love challenges and smack talk.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Sure. You're on a "team." It's called Team Bill. Good luck on that team if you can't access the spreadsheet though. Heh.

Eh, all right. If you can't access the spreadsheet, let us know your progress, and someone will enter the numbers, if you can't do it at home.

Wait. You live near a beach? The "romantic" didn't do anything for me, but "on the beach" caught my attention.

I want to live near a beach! I think you should sell give me your house.

(It's worth a try, right? Maybe you don't WANT to live near the beach anymore.) LOL

Yeah. I figured that comment would get your attention. LOL

My post padding has been slacking. I'll try and step up the pace this month though.

I am tired and have a headache. (I don't get headaches often, so it's annoying me. I suspect it's actually allergy.)

However, Team Dee needs to step it up, or she'll have to taser herself.

Therefore, I'll be getting some kind of workout in today.

So do you just keep it in your hand for easy access or do you keep it in a handy holster? I'm picturing an old west standoff, the lady rancher against the outlaws trying to take advantage of an "easy target." I think the outlaws will lose.

Well this is a novel idea. And it serves two purposes, place holding and post padding.

Today was supposed to be the first day of really serious training, but my bike and the road had other thoughts.

I started out for a 44 minute ride today and 1.6 miles into the ride, I slipped off the road and into the gutter and found a metal grate and found myself on the ground.  Front wheel is a little bent, and I have some road rash, but i'm okay, but not sure when I'll be able to get my bike fixed, so it may be swimming and running only for me until I get the bike fixed.

I know this is a smack talking challenge, but I am lacking motivation right now...

Sorry to hear things didn't go quite as planned. I hope you get feeling better and are able to get back on the bike soon.

Of course, it will be difficult to decide who is winning the post padding secondary challenge, since you won't see the team thread pages getting larger! LOL

Secondary challenge? This is my first time doing a challenge on BT but it seems like the post padding is the focus here. Is there anything important that gets posted in here?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it. I just want to make sure it's ok to not go back and look for anything pertinent if I miss a day or two of reading.

To me the post padding serves multiple purposes.  There's the socializing and getting to know fellow BTer's. There are little bits of wisdom and other things that are occasionally shared. But most of all, there is the support and comraderie that gives motivation and helps to keep me going. Normally the challenges are team events and the post padding builds friendships. Then I don't want to let my team down and that gives me the little extra kick in the behind that I need to get me out the door some days.

Plus it also helps me stay awake when things get slow at work.

Well, I have to admit -- I often try to find my last post, and start reading from there. But I never thought to actually make a Placeholder. Nicely done!
