ironannekidd - 2010-07-21 6:54 AM Good morning Ghoulies!

Morning Ann!

You startled me Robin. I didn't think anyone was up yet. I tried to keep the noise down, but it always seems the harder you try to be quiet the louder you are.

Sorry, I missed my wake-up call this morning. I got up minutes ago and am sitting at the desk in my work clothes (nightie and robe) with my coffee.

I'm still looking for system admin jobs where I can work from home.

Sometimes I miss seeing the kiddos in the morning. Not having to go out in ugly weather would be a plus, too.

ironannekidd - 2010-07-21 6:56 AM I got my run in this morning. I forgot to tape my knee, which became a problem late in my run. I went a new way and I knew there was a hill, but it was bigger than anticipated. Coming down the backside really bothered my knee.

Somehow this morning between running and yoga I pulled a pectoral muscle. I had to switch the mouse on my computer over to the left side because it hurts to extend my arm on the right. If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

What were we saying, just yesterday, about pain free running????

My hamstring didn't hurt today and it wasn't taped. That's the important thing.

I just hope the pec feels better SOON. Maybe if I could get someone to rub it...

Neal should be awake soon, then Tom can have the afternoon shift. Bill is still traveling I think. If he gets in I am sure he will help out, too.

It sure is nice to have my mornings back. I used to have to drive to Asheville by 7:00 am. Over the mountain. In the winter it used to chap my hide to have to take days off just because there was black ice on the mountain. In the fall and summer, we get the tourist drivers. Following a Fla driver going 20 MPH at best after a long day of work would turn me into a monster. Working from home gave me at least 1 1/2 hours of my life back a day. It does have its drawbacks. I can spend a whole day saying nothing to anyone except for work related phone calls. When I get around friends I talk so much I feel like the old advertisement "Help, I'm talking and I can't shut up".

I have many of the same experiences now. I've taken days off because of weather. I have the hour and a half commute every day. I have days now that if I have a conversation with someone at work it is work related. There are some days that my only conversation is here or through a chat session with someone.

I've been thinking a lot lately about doing a HIM next year. I'm thinking maybe Syracuse or Beaches to Battleships, depending on if and when I do a marathon next fall.

Once I'm done with my marathon, I'm thinking maybe 2 weeks off, then start running again. I'd like to do a few HM's in the spring, UNITE being one of them .

So I'm thinking this winter I need to start building volume, and getting better at managing my time.

What do you guys think?

I know I'm going to have to work on diet and nutrition as much as everything else, so expect me to be asking for advice.

I don't need a brand name and I LOVE the Wilmington area, plus I've heard good things about the races put on there that's why I'm thinking B2B.

I will definitely let you know what I decide. Thanks for the Sherpa offer.

The timing is good as well. November, it will be wet suit legal. It's after hurricane season. You can spend the entire summer training for it. My first Tri was in Wilmington. They do a great job with the races I have been in or been at there.

Beach2Battleship 2011 will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011. They moved it up 2 weeks. It's Nov 13 this year.

This would mean no Marine Corps Marathon in 2011. I'll have to think about this.

mndymond - 2010-07-20 10:43 PM So.

This is what I came up with on my ride RE: Carlsbad

BEING WITH GHOULIES!!!!!

1) Its just a weekend...so even if I have an exam that Friday I can just leave after and return on Monday
2) Its just a weekend...people go on ski trips in Jan/Feb/Mar in AB for the weekend...I do not ski...therefore, this could be like a "ski" trip, in fact there are 2 med ski trips that weekend and the weekend after...so I am going "skiing"...
3) Carlsbad would be funner than provincials...as I will suck at provincials with the best swimmer's in AB there and probably not end up even getting into finals.
4) Carlsbad would probably be cheaper than going to provincials with a bunch of 15 yr olds...
5) I think I had something else...but I can't remember now...

...

So? I'm not sure it is a good thing that I can rationalize more or less anything to myself..

**Really good at rationalizing things to myself TOPPAGE**

That was totally the 5th thing. I remember now. Haha.

Subject: RE: Run your azz off Ghoulies pt. 2!!!
ironannekidd - 2010-07-21 8:56 AM I've been thinking a lot lately about doing a HIM next year.

That made me a little less crabby.  Yeah!!!

mndymond - 2010-07-20 10:43 PM So.

Haha.

Another ounce of crabbiness washed away.  Yippee!
