Injury report, 1 gimp present (ME). I'm having a calf issue that preventing me from running. So far I can swim, bike and walk but I cannot run. Getting hit with a severe cramp on the outer part of the soleus and its sore. I had it massaged (nice knot) and am icing it. I'll hope to be running by the end of the week. If not I'll do all my time walking back and forth to work!

Don

Hey Don:

Hope you heal up fast, that sounds painful! I just emailed you my update, but basically I did run 12 last week, but 2 miles were on Monday (in January) so 10 for February. (not sure how the challenge is doing it - the whole week or just the month of...)

Thanks again for rounding us all up!

Don:

Feel better and take care not to aggravate it ... way too early in the season to risk incurring an injury that can nag you through the entire season!

I hear you and thanks all. I had the same type of injury 3 years ago in my left calf. I was too stupid to know what 'listen to your body' meant back then and ended up with a "pop" that left me out of action for 6-8 weeks. I'm happy to be able to swim and bike right now. Since a good walk with the dog doesn't seem hurt it, I'm thinking about hiking 6.1 miles to & from work for my commitment. Heck doing that will get me close to 800 minutes if I do it 4 times. I wonder what the HRM would track on something like that!

Ok, the attached should be our weekly report, we are at 21.5%, 0%, 10.7% for the first 19.2% of the month, way to go everyone

BTW, I forgot to subtract last Mon and Tues from the actual weekly totals when I checked the logs earlier...

Don, thanks for your hard work! Shouldn't you be showing me on the Spreadsheet with 10+ miles though, in the total? I submitted 10.27 miles

Next week will go smoother, I hope!

Ok here's the corrected file with the update for Scott. We're at 21.9%, 0% and 10.9%...

Don

Good job! I set a very modest goal, I'm halfway there already. Wonder if the rules allow us to up our goal? 30 miles isn't that much.

I'm sure you can. I don't want to up mine yet because I lost my "long run" partner so I'm not sure how far I'll make it alone. Also, I have my first 1/2 marathon this month so I guess I'll have a taper before that.

Any other month and 30 miles would be a lot for me, but since this is my race month it doesn't seem so bad!

I got 3 in today, which wasn't even planned. Went with a girlfriend to the Y and did a short treadmill run. Only banged my hand two times! (I am a treadmill klutz)

Got 11 LSD miles in during lunch today ... all below Z3 and most below Z2.

This challenge thing is working insomuch as it is more difficult to blow off a planned run and more difficult to stop short (even when you are running 45 minutes later than anticipated!).

That's super! Especially that you got it in during lunch.

My day sucked today. I've been working on motions the past few weeks and I'm trying to clear out my backlog. But, the good thing is that I have a workout partner that I meet three mornings a week at 6. I convinced him to up the mileage to 5 miles on Friday.

Knocked out 5+ this morning, add another 58:19 to my time. That's 1:33:27 so far this week and 3:36:22 for the month. That puts me at 43.2% of my goal for the month. I have a 70 minute run planned for Friday and may try to get in 20min's or so in after my swim tomorrow!

Looking good!
