GomesBolt - 2013-04-14 8:38 PM Next episode is gonna be pretty awesome.

I don't recall the part with pod bringing the money back in the books. That was a funny scene.

The pods part wasn't in the book that I can remember but it did make me laugh out loud.

As a whole I think this was a good episode moving along the story line.

The episode was good and it made sure to leave out the parts of the book that were boring!

Yes, some things were added, but certainly entertaining. Great ending with Jamie's right hand being cut off!

I laughed as well.

I liked the rock n roll version of "The Bear and the Maiden Fair." But I thought that song was about one of the Mormonts. I'm not sure I get the connection to Roose Bolton.

A lot less hearing "The Reynes of Castamere" this season...

I just rewatched the last episode and I found a bunch of things they did that I thought were pretty good.

The Tullys wear armor that looks like fish scales. That's not in the book, but clever.

When Robb's done chewing Edmure out for his blunder, he says "Tywin Lannister can afford to be patient." In the next scene, Tywin is waiting patiently without saying a word in the new council room.

I also liked how Cersei drags her chair around the side of the table to be alone. And then how Tyrion draaaaaaaags his chair around the far end. That was a clever scene.

Of course, we already mentioned Pod's scene with Tyrion.

ETA, the next show should be awesome...

I just read that the lead singer from Snow Patrol had a cameo in the scene where Locke's men are singing "The Bear and the Maiden Fair" as they ride down the road with Jaime and Brienne on horses. That is pretty cool.

Thanks, and to you thanks as well. This is a good group to talk about this stuff with. It is a good series and book series. I was an English major in college so I like characters and story lines.

Danerys part was too short. But I heard that's because it costs so much to do big battle scenes. The Battle of Blackwater was a major part of the budget for the second season.

I think they're being careful not to re-tell everything in the books which means adding stuff like the Cersei/Tywin scene and the Queen of Thorns/Spider scene.

Next episode with Sam and Beric should be good.

Short but well done. They got across most of the plot ideas for everyone who hasn't read the books.

They did it this way because they never introduced Kyra from Winterfell or the bastards hounds that later kill Kyra. So this way is a easier way to just let him think he was free then back to being tortured.

The interesting variation though is that he admitted that he didn't kill Bran and Rickon to Bolton's men.  Was that ever in the books?  I don't recall.

In regards to Sam, I thought in the book he already had the dragonglass incicent. I thought it was on their march away from the Fist of the First Men when he was lagging behind. Is that wrong?

I read the books, but have to say I am totally lost as to what was in the books and what is new.  How the heck do you guys remember this stuff?  I had a thought that I would go re-read the books, but that lasted about 50 pages....

Good point.  It was before Craster's Keep because they were all calling him "Slayer" at Craster's.  Grenn and Small Paul were with him when he killed it.  How's he gonna get the "Slayer" moniker without some other Night Watchmen around?

I think we are past the possibility of seeing the original Reek or Ramsay as Reek, though the course could very well be set for the broken Theon version of Reek.

Poor Theon, he's gotta be thinking, "wait a minute, this guy just killed 4 of his own men so I'd think he was rescuing me...what else is he capable of?"

Theon, you don't want to know....

Having not read the books, they still made a reference to the comedic relief from Pod's encounter.

Is this just comic relief, or are they going along the lines of True Blood where he has some enchantment or Fairy lineage in him?
