You know, there are idiots everywhere. There is no rule in regards to passing on the downhill. As long as you weren't drafting, you're golden. Seems to me the guy was just a hipster dufus. Ignore him!

Also this should be added to the thread, it should have been mentioned earlier... If you can bring a sharpie or other marker to a race do so. After you get bodymarked put a BT on your right calf for team identifacation. Thats what I did last year at least. Just so we know who each other are.

That's a great idea!

All events in Ontario are regulated by OAT, the Ontario Association of Triathletes. As such, all event organizers follow the OAT rules on drafting. Here's a link to the exact rules on drafting...

The extent to how much the drafting rules are enforced really varies from event to event. Some events like Try-a-Tri's are less strict about drafting while others like those that offer qualifying spots for ITU events are very strict.

I do that drive all the time   Depending on where you are in London it will take you about 20-30 mins just to get out of town, its another hour on the highway and then Guelph is similar to London in that it is another 15-20 mins until you get in town.  The Conservation area is on the opposite side of town, but if you take the Hanlon Parkway across the city, it is not too bad.  I'd give yourself a couple hours (depending how fast you like to drive and how often you get lost )

Newbie,

98% of the bike route is not in the park, so really there is no need to enter the park unless you want to check out the water/beach.  You can probably park your car on the road outside the park and then ride your bike into the park to save paying the park fee.

Is anyone doing the C3 Sprint in Brampton (Professors Lake) at the end of June?

 Has anyone done it before?

I just signed up for it today so wondering what it is like.

I don't think I'm going to be a qualifier for any age group. Just going for the experience and as this will be my first Sprint of 2007, will be a good gauge of whether I will be able to do an Olympic distance later in the summer.

Geoff, what sort of condition will the water be in? Is it going to be really cold do you think?
