Ok....I scanned in the logo ideas and put them in an album. I also included comments to help describe what is wrong, or what needs to be tweaked.

Take a look-see and provide feedback.  If you don't like any it won't hurt my feelings.

Jen...you know that shirt you liked.......

We could maybe do something with this logo to work with that. The shape fits perfectly. Kind of like above, they can make the cassette look like shiny metal.  I think we need to change the E to ESCKTC, and actually pick a real font for the bottom letters.  And on the shirt above, there the two little logos are up above, we may be able to but the BT logo and the Focus logo if I can get them to go into it with us.  Maybe have our saying (whatever it will be....perhaps the "Everyone is on the east side of somewhere!" in white on the back.   And the flames coming up the side panel of the shorts with white ESCKTC down it.  ........  Just throwing out thoughts here........

SAWEEET!!!!! SOLD!! I love it!

Josh says "sounds good to me!"

What was Harry's exact saying? I think that is about it. I like it - very inviting - yet conversational! HA!

Lets contact Pactimo and get a quote!!!! I think FLAMES are awesome because it totally suits AZ too!

What does everyone else think?

It may be a bit early to talk about it, but what about sponsor logos? Who's that bike shop? Will they pitch in a few bucks if we add their logo? Should we add a BT logo out of the goodness of our hearts because that's where we hang?

My comments on the logos are in the album.

Like I mentioned above, I will work with Focus Cyclerly to see what he can do for us, but want to kind of have a working comp to show him first so he knows we are serious. I think we should contact Ron too and see what we need to do to get a BT logo.  Harry....can you send Ron a message and ask him???

Yeah lets check with Focus. Can you have competing bike shops? DNA may be willing to sponsor too - I would be willing to check with Don unless its considered bad to have competing bike shops (I am thinking it might). Who else should we hit up? I can ask my dads company! HA HA! (Heavy duty truck repair and parts business!) :p

DNA's logo is COOL!!! So we are cool with going for two bike shops? I guess it would be up to the bike shops in the long run huh? Should we talk with Focus first then DNA, or just ask them both?

Its the DNA double helix:

As for my dads logo its red white and blue and it just says their name in black "Jerry and Keith's Inc" its boring really. I cannot find a pic, but I will look. I will call my dad tonight, would be cool if he would pitch in!

Maybe my sister would want to advertise her interior design company! HA HA HA!

I am thinking we all should think of who we could ask to sponsor us, a donation will get their name on our uniform (AMAZING advertising as we have members in almost every race!) AND I am SLOOOW so people can SEE the advertising!

We should come up with a letter with our LOGO on some letterhead (get on that Tanya will ya? *wink*) and take the letters to places like RunAZ, local bike shops, even chiropractors and small business owners. I think we could get our uniforms paid for this way! If any of you have friends that own businesses ASK!!!

This is helpful:

Finding sponsorship for your club or society is not an easy task, but if you are willing to put in the work the rewards are certainly worth the effort. What follows is a few tips designed to get you started and make it easier, they are not hard and fast rules, just suggestions we’ve been given by people who know what they’re talking about.

Somethings to remember:
• Sponsorship is a business expenditure, not a donation, so you have to go about it in a business-like way.
• Sponsors may want to contribute financially but they may also be able to offer you a service, bear this in mind when choosing who to approach and what to ask for.

Two Key Questions:
The two things any sponsor will want to know are what you want the money for and what they will get in return.
Do you want sponsorship for…
… A specific event?
…Upgrading/maintaining equipment?
…Subsidising kit/equipment for members?
…Allow members to attend competitions/events/tours?

What can you offer in return…
…Sponsors’ logo on kit/equipment/publications (emails, posters etc)?
…Advertising banners/links on websites?
…Opportunities to give presentations to your members?
…Opportunities for recruiters to take part in socials/tournaments /events?
…Banner display at tournaments/events/tours?
…Opportunities to promote their item to the specialist audience of your membership (ie. DJ equipment to music societies)?

Don’t Forget to Sell Yourselves:
Sponsors will want to know that they are supporting an interesting and active club or society so include details such as
• Number of members
• Awards/competitions you’ve won
• Position in any leagues you’re in
• Details of any campaigns you run
• Charity/fundraising/volunteering work
• Social events you run
• Trips/tours you’ve been on
• Anything else you can think of that makes your club or society stand out!

Once you’ve got all of this information together you need to put it together into a coherent proposal. Our sponsors, KPMG, have given some tips on what makes a good sponsorship proposal.

Good proposals are…..

- Short and sweet. Companies receive lots of proposals and it’s quite time-consuming to go through them and work out how good an opportunity actually is. Try and keep to the facts: what do you need the sponsorship money for and what will the sponsor get in return. Ideally try and keep to 2 sides.

- Realistic. Clubs/societies often claim that by sponsoring them, the company will get exposure to the whole of the university’s student base. Is that true? We’d prefer it if you gave more specific information such as how many members are there in your club/society? How many matches/events does the club/society hold each year and what is the turnout like in terms of member numbers and the audience? This kind of information gives us a good and realistic idea of how many people will be exposed to our brand.

- Have images. It helps us to visualise what sponsoring the club/society would be like. E.g. have you got a picture of your club wearing kit with your existing sponsor’s logo on? Or have you got a picture of the kit showing where the potential sponsor’s logo could go? What about a society event? Have you got pictures which show where a sponsor’s banner could go for example?

I looked to see if there were USAT rules on this but could not find anything....

Cora Lee speaking, sorry for the "input" via Harry, but what about asking or at least talking with Carrie at Inside the Bungalow?  She might be interested in helping out a little!  What a great opportunity to make a good business connection all 'round.

Peace out!

And that would actually be a related biz!!!  Good call Cora!  I plan on asking my company too once I have something to show them.

OK....2 more variations on a theme.  Harry suggested the bike gear was too strong image, but we all agree that the sun or something Representative of AZ would be cool.  Take a look again at the album. There are 2 similar ones there and a proposal for the back.  I tried to find some cool fonts, but there are HUNDREDS of cool fonts out there, and I was spending way too much time downloading them. SOO...we can tighten up the fonts later, but just trying to nail down a concept here.  let me know what you think.  Again, try to envision them with the flame shirt above.

I like log re-do 1. The others will look way too busy with even more stuff (ads) around them although they're all really cool. Other people will have to be able to read the logo quickly as we zoom by them in a race!

In case anyone cared for the northern affiliate opinion...

ROFLMAO! As I'm reading posts I'm thinking "hey I bet the Bungalow is a good place to hit up for sponsorship. I bet we can get Yoga discounts or something."

Then imagine my suprise when I find that I've already posted that idea
I guess sometimes she thinks like I do.

And Astrid you are MORE THAN welcome to add input. The only qualification is that you're a cool kid and you're east side of something

I'm a little torn now, much the same as Jen. I really think logo 5 brings out the essence of the desert spirit. Then again, if we're not to alienate our non desert dwelling sisters and brothers, then maybe just the sun is good. I can't descide. Maybe my alternate personallity can...

OH and one more request: No black base for the shirts/jerseys. We are in the desert down here, and black workout clothing is generally a bad idea.

BUT BLACK IS SLIMMING!!!

Josh said the same thing, white is probably best (won't see salt/ sweat stains either) We can do flames at the bottom or a color fade to white.

Once we decide on a logo, I can write up a proposal letter to take to the potential sponsors or we can just talk to them casually and if they need something more formal we can provide it. I THINK we should have:

- Bike shop
- Bungalow/ yoga place
-A massage place
- My massage lady works at Fuchsia, that would be AWESOME on a jersey!

What else makes sense for a triathlete - FOOD! BEER! Fitz where are you???

They are all in my album for comments

Well you already know this but I LOOOVE the second one! It:

1 - Has flames - its like a fire coming from within!

2 - Is WHITE

3 - Has all the colors we are trying to incorporate

4 - IS HAWT!!!

LOVE IT!

The other ones are too busy or have black on the shoulders so - NOPE!

Email to Ron sent. I essentially asked permission to do free advertising for BT since we owe it our existence. I also told him to come check out the AZ forums to see us if he has any doubts or questions.

Okay - I'm gonna pack my $0.02 in multiple times, so don't be surprised if it becomes 5 pounds 4 pence by the end.

1. Jen - you only want Don's input because of his tongue piercing. Come on.... don't lie! BTW, I've got a great picture of Don chatting up some chick at the Boeing "Bike to Work Day"... in case you need blackmail fodder.

2. I also love #2 of the jersey mockups.

3. Of the original sets, I really liked the Easton inspired logo. I'm cool with it becoming a full ESCKTC set of letters instead of the single E, but I want it in flesh colors with the drips off of it being blood colored. It pretty much sums you guys up [with maybe a beer mug in the background? ha ha].

4. For all of you giving me crap about my single speed [you'll notice Josh didn't hassle me - so I'm going to assume he's in my camp!], check out the head badge on my bike. All will be forgiven after this!

http://looker.com/image/MBC%20Badge.jpg

Okay. I guess that only ended up being 8 pence. But you get the picture!

BTW - I registered ESCKTC.com today. So we can do whatever we want with it. For now, I'm going to forward it to the blog Josh put together.

One other point. From a design standpoint, I think you did an awesome job with the set of triangles [sort of "Star of David"-like] with the E in the middle. And, as the *guys* pointed out, you hit the Triaga theme on the head [so to speak - wink].

It pulls the eye really well around it with the hook on the right side to give focus. I can see your graphic design degree paying off!

Okay. One final thing. I'm working on incorporating a bike shop [a hobby thing for me].
The thing is, I get major wholesale on a lot of stuff with it. So.... I'd be happy to sponsor, but my only sponsorship would be putting together wholesale orders for members. I know - not a big input of money.... but there it is.

I don't know if one swim gives me voting rights, but I think all of this is awesome. I like logo 2,3,4 and both redo's. I'm not particular about color. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help or cost-wise.

I've been reading the west-side thread, and although its a little closer I'll cast my allegiance to ESCKTC because you guys have been awesome to me and I'd love to represent you all at SOMA. If the one swim doesn't make me a full fledged member, bring on any initiation you can think of.

Dude....

I'm as new as you are. But as far as I understand these guys, you're one of us! You've done the unthinkable and brought the beer! The only thing that's painful for us is you didn't hang out to drink it! [we understood - you've got a life]

We'd be more than happy to have you come hang with us again. You're definitely an ESKCTC member.

I suppose I'm speaking for everybody [and I'm the n00b - so I'm definitely over speaking], but I personally think you're a great guy and would be happy to have you show up for the next workout.

Guys - I know it's not my place [again - as the n00b], but I think we should give a "Laurel and Hardy Handshake" to 'Miah.

Slap me down if I'm being an idiot.
