Subject: Chicago MarathonI'm alive!!!!!!!!
Finished the complete Chicago Marathon, and met every single one of my goals (Get in a long run / finish the race / finish under 5 hrs ). In spite of the 90+ degree heat. Started off slow because of my injury and that actually saved me. Middle miles, when everyone melted, I walked alot. I mean ALOT!!! But then from mile 20 on, when the police were telling everyone the race was cancelled and walk it in, I actually felt a second wind. I thought those miles would be the tough ones, but instead I was able to put in a fair amount of running - would run for a few minutes, then stop, drink or douse my head with water, walk a little, then start up again. And...I finished in under 5 hrs, which I questioned even on a decent weather day. So, I'm psyched. Now, it's on to training for NYC and based on this, I think I got a sub 4 in me.
So, add in 26.2 to my week 1 total! (total=39.2 )
