Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra Hey everyone! I ran a New Year's Bash (sort of) run today. It's an interesting one - you get to chose your distance (5K, 10K, or HM) as you are running. There are turn off points for the 5 and 10K. Of course, if you pass that last one you are stuck running the HM. I planned to run the 10K, and stuck to my plan. I'm still rewarding myself for making my goal in November and finishing that HM in under two hours. So I don't plan to run another HM until March. But today I did ok. No PR, but I did get second place in my age group. I logged my time in the spreadsheet. Shouldn't race time count double? |

Second place in your age group is very impressive, so congrats!! I'm off for a run (on the treadmill). Though, I guess I shouldn't complain and just run in the rain - especially when skarl is out there snowshoeing! That's always sounded like a fun activity to me, though I'm not sure if the reality of snowshoeing would live up to the idyllic image I have in my mind. Whatever your weather, hope you're all out there running! Go Monkeys! |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra January Challenge – week 1 Thanks to everyone who is participating – Dee and I are having a great time with the challenge – I loved being the official greeter and well – Dee loves spreadsheets, so it’s a perfect match – LOL We have nine teams and I’d have to say they’ve been quite creative in coming up with team names! Way better than what Dee and I would have come up with that’s for sure!!! There have been some obstacles this first week for many of the teams, lots of illness, colds coughs, and the like. Some monster storms affecting our friends in Cali – Looks like everyone is making the best of it and still getting the workouts in! WTG! Team Recaps (in no particular order – and the order could change from week to week) Funky-Chrono-Monkeys of the Frozen Cinder Tundra – Captain Bluejack Team T.I.T.S – Captain Max (aka keeper of the T.I.T.S) Wet and Wild – Captain Jeni Side note – has anyone else noticed the high view to post count ratio for Teams T.I.T.S and Wet and Wild? What do you suppose people are looking for? LOL! Team Ride Lots – Captain Scott Scrambled Legs – Captain1for1 Loving Every Mile – L.E.M. - Captain Lisa Flying Fish – Captain Kendra Twisted Blisters – Captain Beth Who’s your Marmadaddy? – Captain Sal |
