OK that's cool I really like it! Still a fair amount of climbing but some good flats to practice speed on the flats.

- Times are TBD as we still figure out who is coming.
- We'll do 2 loops with the option of those who only want to ride 25 can jump off after loop one or join at loop 2.

A few thoughts on group rides as we grow as a club: (input wanted)

- This is a RULE we need to start implementing on ALL group rides, especially new routes: KNOW THE ROUTE. If you do not have it studied, bring cut sheets. Most ESCKTC rides are no drop rides but it is STILL always a good idea and good cycling etiquette to know the route and not rely on another person to tell you where to go (I am guilty of this myself, big time).

- Depending on the number of people we have, and people's training plans we may be able to do a "group within the group" system. We have discussed this every single time we ride but have yet to implement trying it:
- Fast Group (those who need to work on speed that day, intervals, etc, aka doing their own thang)
- Fun Group (those who are out there to hang out, chat, get some time in the saddle)
Groups can obviously change according to your training plans. I think it would be nice to start saying which group we plan on being in that week. If you want to be a part of the fast group its sort of a drop group, either you hang or you don't, every person for themselves. Fun group is the no drop group.

This way everyone can be a part of group rides which are so much fun and so beneficial but still adhere to training plans, or just come out and have a GOOD time.

Thoughts?

I don't have time to read through the whole thread here, but if we have a start time of 10:30 for the 2nd loop I would join you all.

Put me down for 2nd loop if that works.  I'll be driving down from Flag that morning so I can't make it earlier.

If you started at exactly 8:00am and averaged 18.3 mph, you'd get in at 9:22. I could probably make 10:00.

Would that work? Or should I hold off till next time? And is anyone else doing the 2nd loop?

Bah! What am I thinking? I'll just ride tomorrow morning up in Flag.  No use goofing up the ride on Sunday.  I'll catch you all next time!!

I didn't think anyone was goofing up any rides. I thought we were tossing out times to see what works to get the most people involved. If it makes sense to start the first loop at 8:30 so that more people can jump in on a second loop around 10:00 - 10:30 then I do not think 8:00 would be a steadfast time - at least it shouldn't be. I for one am happy to wait a few minutes for you to arrive.

Don't give up so easily...

Ok, well I'll just hang tight and see what everyone comes up with then. I just don't want to mess things up. I know it's mothers' day and all.

I never said it HAD to start at 8.  I was just throwing to the wall to see if it would stick!  If 8:30 and 10:30 work for the most people, then let's go with that.

Start at 8.  It's a busy day and people need to get their stuff done.

Well, nice that you get to see sis, but yeah.....suprises are not always fun!!!

Ok then....since it is late and someone has to call it......let's do this....

First loop meet at 8:00.  Try to be ready to ride at this time.  Second loop would be 9:45ish.  There is some climbing on this route, so it think it will take a little longer to do the 24 than if it were flat.  2nd group wait for first before taking off.

Meet on the North East corner of Greenfield and Brown.  I think there is a school or something there.  Here is the map to the route.  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/training/map.asp?route...

Does that work? I think Aaron, myself and Rick are in for the first loop for sure. Sounds like PJ may be as well.

See you in the AM!
