runnerx - 2008-12-09 5:25 PM Which reminds me...I'm actually surprised, we haven't seen many pics on this thread.

Ask and ye shall receive.  Not the best quality but you get the picture!

Nice.   Was that a race from this last fall?  Love the flowers.

Yup, the Hartford Half Marathon in October.  My sister's house.  She has a wicked green thumb.  Wish I did.

I think our weather was about the same.   My run however was on the treadmill.  Only way I am able to with the kids and all.

Ah, the kidlets.  This is my first year with all my kiddos in school.  The freedom is incredible!  Course, Liam is only half day, four days a week but it is still nice to be able to train outside without having to worry about a babysitter or a husband getting home in time or whatever life brings!

Hello Toddies!

So, I can't remember which thread this was in, and I'm too lazy to go check, but my fav PB is Teddies Extra Super Duper Crunchy to the Hilt. Like, you know, one peanut out of every fifty or so was smashed. Used to HATE crunchy PB, then something switched, and now creamy freaks me out (except in cooking, of course). But, alas, I don't eat much PB at all because my BFF is allergic to all nuts and as she regularly does my dishes in exchange for my cooking, I don't want to risk giving her a reaction if I accidentally leave something out. Worth giving up the PB for my BFF!

Here's my confession, though: more than I miss PB, I miss Nutella. Mmmmmm, Nutella. Proof that God loves us. In this case, I use my BFF as an excuse to not eat entire tubs of it, which might possibly do bad things for my weight loss goals...

No run today. . Lemme say that again: . I missed my meds Sunday morning and think I had a delayed reaction to that (which makes sense, as they are slow release), and my motivation to excuse ratio swung horribly in the wrong direction. Ugh. Tomorrow's a new day, right?

I LOVE Nutella! I remember when I was a kid living in Italy having it for the first time.  It was years later, after we moved back to the States, that I had it again.  Yum!  My kids have never had it, I think I'll have to pick some up next time I'm at the grocery!

I would recommend against that if you ever have any hope of them not eating your entire jar before you get to it! LOL! I say buy a jar and hide it at the back of the cupboard and enjoy it on fantastic french bread with your wine on quiet evenings. Ahhhhhh....bliss!

Hmm, good point.  I'm thinking Friday night is a good time for some wine and Nutella.  Sounds like a plan to me!

Morning Todds!

Seems like it was a pretty quiet night around here last night, relatively speaking.  I'm used to having to sift through a couple of pages when I take a night off

I got in a nice little swim after work, ate some dinner and hopped on the trainer.  I was pretty tired after that so I just lounged on the couch, watched the end of the Biggest loser and went to bed after that

I debating whether or not to take my run outside today.  Mother nature was kind enough to give us a nice layer of ice followed by a few inches of snow.  Sidewalks could be a little treacherous, but I despise the treadmill so much I might risk it.  Of course it needs to warm up a little.  It was a measly 5 degrees when I woke up this morning

Morning Neal!  Sounds like a cold yucky day.  5 degrees is unacceptable.  Someone should fix that!  Is it spring yet?

Hey all -
Got a favor to ask... (posting this in both of my challenges - sorry for the duplicate)

I'm writing up a newsletter for my running club and wanted to include people's responses to the following question: "Why do you run?"

So, I'm asking you all the same, and I'd like to include your responses (completely anonymous). Any type of response is welcome - funny, serious, deep, whatever.

PM me if you don't feel comfortable posting on the thread.

Thanks in advance.

I started running when I lost my job in 2002 because if I didn't do something I knew I would just sit around all day and go crazy.  I kept running because I was loosing weight and because my swim coach said it was good for me.  Then we moved to Hoboken and that inspired this little maudlin piece:

So, my husband just got back from the Dr.  He as STREP!!!  So help me, if I get sick for vacation, I will kick him square in the buttocks!!!!!

How is everyone today?

Well I originally ran to lose weight.  Dropped about 50 pounds that way.

Now I run because I actually enjoy it.  Must be that runner's high I guess.  And its usually my primary form of exercise when I need to blow off some steam

Ooh, strep throat is no good.  I used to alternate between getting strep throat and tonsillitis every 4-5 months when I was younger.  This went on for a few years before I finally convinced the doctor to take them out.

Hope you stay Strep free!
