Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: RE: Nibbs XLII kns57 - 2010-01-08 3:13 AM Hello Nibbs and Happy New Year. Went to California to visit my daughter and grandkids. Caught a cold from the plane and just as I was leaving CA, two of the grandkids started sneezing. I'm really hoping that I did not get all 4 of them sick. That would be awful for my daughter. My son-in-law goes to Saudi Arabia the end of January for a year and my daughter will basically be a single mother with 4 kids for that year. It is going to be tough. And hard for us to help from 3000 miles away. Wow that is tough! Im sure she can at least call you for vent/stress relief etc when she needs it so that will help some.. what does her husband do? I was thinking military but I know a lot of international companies would have offices there too... |

(there are a few exceptions but it tends to be for executives in international companies with international policies - not something Ive come across) Thats good if she has a few leads... means she knows there are other things out there! It makes me wish that we didn't have to worry about it here. It is very frustrating. It means they may have to switch doctors, which is not what my dad needs right now because he has to have his thyroid cancer really closely monitored and possibly another surgery. It's just a lot for them to deal with. Well, that suxs. Maybe they can call the doctor's office, to see if they can work something out? |

Im amazed how many people havent had it as children! Bizarre. I wonder how many people will get it as adults in the future. They are immunizing almost all kids, but that won't last forever. Want to contemplate something even scarier --> Smallpox.... |

Yeah i think they are immunising here too... just those of us who are adults already I guess have either had it or are in danger... I know the doc said to me if I ever get shingles to go straight to the hospital... something to do with the immune system and my tummy condition... I dont think contact with someone who has the active virus would be enough to reactivate it though... Ive done some google searching and doesnt seem to be a link If you had it as a child, you should have less risk for getting shingles from sick people. |

However, smallpox is considered eradicated. That's what massive immunizations can do. |

However, smallpox is considered eradicated. That's what massive immunizations can do. Yes, but that's only if someone takes it and uses it as a bioweapon. The chance of it spontaneously arising in the population is basically nonexistent. The CDC has to have a contingency plan for it. That's their job! If they didn't and a bioterrorism attack happened, a lot of people would be really angry. |

One time the army will pay the airfare, the other would be on his own dime. We told him that Tanya would be getting the care packages as she will need them more than he will over the next 12 months. |

It's tough with the two older boys in school trying to make it work for everyone. |

Nope, I'm not feeling better, This dang cough will not go away. Army. This is a fairly safe assignment as much as that goes. That is as long as everything in Saudi Arabia continues to stay safe. He will get to go to embassy dinners, meet with Saudi princes (of course they are a dime a dozen, LOL). He will be assigned to work with the Saudi army. It will be for a year and great experience for his army career. Last time he was in Iraq our daughter lived 2 hours from us and was at our house every week. It was nice for us. This time she is just so far away. Oh, well. That is life. |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Nibbs XLII Hey folks...I have been working on sorting out my little health insurance mess... So far I am looking at $995 in bills that they will not pay. The papers they sent me are worded poorly (legal mumbo jumbo) so there are another 4-5 visits that I am not sure what the status is. I put in a phone call, but they have a reputation for not returning them. It looks like all the paperwork my dr and I submitted for a transfer of inpatient visit coverage to outpatient visits may not have processed in time to cover any of my appointments. Convenient for the insurance company... |
