LSUfan4444 - 2012-02-21 10:47 AM Nope, that helps - the Vittoria Open Corsa Evo was my 2nd choice of tire but since you are saying the michelin pro race 3 tested even faster than the Vittoria, I'll just roll with the Pro Race 3's

The Michelin Pro3 Race tires are also half the price of the Vittorias. WIN!

It's hard to justify $50-$75 for a scrawny little tire when the comparatively gigantic and beefy things that fit on my automobiles cost less than that.

Good point!  The Michelin tires last longer too!

Rickz - 2012-02-21 11:24 AM Thanks for the info Chris. I have now made my decision. You are a customer service MACHINE. I don't know how you do it, but I do see that there are apparently two of you. One clone named "Chris" and the other one named "John." Tongue out

Yeah having my twin brother around definitely helps.  We delegate tasks pretty well!

Thanks for the compliments,

Rickz - 2012-02-21 2:08 PM I find the AFM chart dubious though. Those tests are done on a roller drum and tires don't deform in a concave manner like that when you're on the road. How well that translates into real world results hasn't been conclusively proven. They also used all different ages of tires. New, used, old stuff that people have sent in, etc. Their variables are all over the place.

The tests that they perform are well controlled and have shown to be analogous and proportional to performance on road surfaces.

Thanks for the compliments,

Chris / John,

I wish nothing but success to you two and your company.  I hope all goes as well as planned.

Since you two are using the pre-order funds for capital to finance the actual wheel building process, are either of you planning on traveling to the factory to oversee the production to make sure: 1) that it actually gets done.  2) that they build wheels to your specs and as well as the samples?  It would probably make a lot of us potential customers sleep better knowing that there will be no surprises in June when the shipment arrives on your doorstep.

This is the downside of using pre-sale funds to finance manufacturing vs. having capital investment and product on hand. if something goes wrong with manufacturing it could mean disaster.  Just a thought.

Im thinking orange/orange, yellow/yellow, or grey/white

my bike is ALL black, grey, and white... I think i might want a bit of color

or maybe a complete matching would be better.

BIG DECISIONS!

Those are very good questions.  Jon and I will definitely be keeping a close eye on the production process.  We have an import/export team who keeps in daily contact with our factory, we have a 3rd party inspector insuring wheels will be built to our specified tolerances, and we both have full intentions of making another trip to the factory during the production process.  Communication is the key to successful international business and we will be double, triple and quadruple checking every step along the way.

It would probably make a lot of us potential customers sleep better knowing that there will be no surprises in June when the shipment arrives on your doorstep.

Haha!  I love it.  I'm confident your bike will look great either way.  We will also be selling additional decal packages for those who want to mix it up.

Take care,

Does that mean you will inspect each order when you receive it and before you ship it to us?

Absolutely.  Each wheel will be inspected before it ships to a customer.  That's the least we can do.

The 60 front 90 rear is probably the most versatile wheelset you can get.  Just go with your instinct.  You really can't make a bad choice!

Well finally decided.   60/60 for me.  I would get some benefit in TT for the 60/90 but I think the 60/60 is just more versatile for crits and road....

So who'll be the first to post that they've got their order in?  The suspense builds....

(And you know the guys at Flo are freaking out right now with a couple of dedicated windows to show site traffic and orders as they process).
