The heat was a little brutal yesterday, my gastro-intestinal issues took some time to subside which didn't allow me to PR, the BTers and Donkai were everywhere, and I am an Ironman again!

Thank you, folks, for all your support!  It played a big factor keeping positive the whole day and enjoying the race.

I am very sore, but I am happy.

Bless you all.

I haven't started my RR yet - still figuring and recollecting.  So much to think and start writing about.

Congratulations!!!!

(Do I need to start tapping while waiting for that RR?)

Tap. Tap. Tap tap tap..... tap tap tap tap tap tap....

Eh, nevermind. Take your time with it. I look forward to reading it.

Will it be longer than "War and Peace?"

Seriously, congratulations. That's a big accomplishment. (My legs and arms would have fallen off.)

Well, generally no. But I've been taking some time during the day to do "move related stuff." So I'm doing some work in the evening to catch up.

Thank you SuperCat and Deeder!

Instead of tapping, you may have to taser my azz to get me moving again.

I have a couple of pics posted in my blog today - one of Mike Reilly and I, and one of Raynard Tissink, the overall winner, and I.

Basically, low-fat diet.  It's helping some, but I still end up feeling a little sick after I eat.

Splitting a standard sized dinner into two servings and athing them both but at separate times to lessen the impact on the system....

I don't think that any tasering is necessary.  I went to the botanical gardens today...I was going to take the bus, but dave offered that I could use his car.

....need to go back further...

his car's brake light had been on for a while and and started making weird (bad) sounds a few days before the race. It needed to be checked out but he was really really busy with school and work.  I offered to take it in for him...

The brakes turned out to be fine-the rear wheel bearings were really worn and had gotten out of alignment-they needed to be replaced...cost him $500 when all was said and done (he had a couple of maintenance things done too....ie oil change, fluids, etc).

The car handled differently/strangely after it was worked on.  Yesterday morning the brake light came on again.

When I drove it to the botanical gardens the brakes felt a little cushy... on the way back they became worse.  Something was definitely up.  the car place is on the way back from the gardens...at the stoplight before the auto place the car didn't want to stop for a yellow light.  I drove through and then pulled into the parking lot.  I had them look at the car again...

there is an obvious brake fluid leak now (they had been unable to find any when they worked on the car last thursday) and the reservoir was empty. I couldn't get a hold of Dave so I had the mechanic top off the fluid and bring the car down.  In the process of parking the car the brake fluid drained out again and the e brake needed to be used to stop the car.  There was a 6 foot long stripe of brake fluid left on the ground behind the car.

I drove the car back home slowly using the parking brake when I needed to slow or stop.  After parking it I walked to the store and bought a bottle of brake fluid-it is now in the front seat of the car.

I finally got a hold of Dave online... he is not the happiest of persons.

Today was my last full day here...I am catching a plane back to Seattle tomorrow at noon.  In the meantime Dave requested that I write up a summary of my experiences at the car place.  He plans to try to have them take responsibility for the brake fluid leak issue and fix it without a bunch more charges.  Or something like that...

I don't even know if I will see Dave tonight...I may be asleep before he gets back from work.  He has a big project that he is working on and is going to be out for a while.  I will be taking the bus to the airport in the morning.
