aspeelma - 2009-11-09 1:35 PM Bill - I just noticed your location. That's funny stuff!

My body and I are failing to find the humor with 70 degree weather and no bike riding Ann (j/k)

x2

It was 70 degrees here yesterday and I spent an hour and a half jogging in the pool.Yell

Kim - how do you do it that long (oh boy here they go).  I get bored at 30 minutes (running, not the other activity people - get your minds out of the gutter ok? )

Also - you move around in the pool right?  You are not stationary are you (stationary not missionary - I cannot believe I have to confirm all this stuff guys Tongue out )

Staying power....what else can I say?  And, yes I move around.  Back and forth. Over and over. It can be boring, but sometimes there are some characters that are entertaining to watch.  This morning, the guy in the lane next to me blew up water wings and put them on his ankles.  And he added a pull buoy just in case he didn't have enough flotation with the wings.  I thought the lifeguard was going to fall off his perch he was laughing so hard.

I just wanted to make sure we were moving in the water!

I love when the whole zero entry portion and shallow end is empty and people still feel the need to play in my little 10x10 deep end area that I have to circle around - people get out of here I am dangerous because I need to exercise more than this dumb circle running in a pool!

I am going to keep my glasses on from now on just to be able to laugh!

OTH sometimes you are better keeping them off.  Yesterday a guy in white/cream colored board shorts was a couple lanes over.  Didn't really matter while he was swimming, but i feel sorry for anyone that saw him walking back to the locker room.

There was an elliptical lady who had no underwear on the other day that was fun (and she was nice looking to boot!) plus tight pants!

skrtrnr - 2009-11-09 9:52 AM i was just reminded when i went to the Y today, that i was a three years ago this week that i joined the Y....

i need to post the pic of how i looked back then.

the people at the front desk of the Y keep telling me that i look like a completely different person than the picture they have on file/the pic they took when i joined....

AND....

one of the personal trainers at the Y has known me for years - before i joined the Y.

she pulled me aside today and told me that she pointed me out as a role model to one of her personal training clients (she works 1-1 w people at the Y)

she said the woman has been really struggling w sticking w her routine, and losing weight, and just really down on herself.

K. said she pointed me out to her, and told her how i used to be 'just like' her, and how i stuck w the plan and kept working out, and to look at me, how fit and athletic i am.

she told her how i ran a 1/2 mary this weekend (K. ran the same race and SMASHED the course, took 6th place in her age group and shes not even a 'runner' yeah right.  LOL) and how ive been training for triathlons.

K. was so sweet, she said "SEE STACIE, YOU'RE A ROLE MODEL"

i started to tear up (seriously, i did)

again, to think that i inspire a single soul, is just truly humbling/amazing to me.

i hope this woman sticks w the journey long enough to begin to see her life transform.

its an amazing journey.

stacieb

Wow Stacie, what a great story! Happy "Anniversary" with the Y! That is REALLY cool what your trainier friend is using you as an example of what hard work and commitment can produce. Way to be a role model Stacie!!!

yay.  the whole thing kinda of took me by surprise this morning - the comment from the trainer, i mean.

she's been oh so supportive, and would make comments to me when she would see me working out - like nice job, keep up the good work, way to go on your race et al.

but i was 'stunned' when she said she pointed me out to one of her clients...and then to say im a 'role model'

holy schmokes.

thats uber humbling.

but....im also glad for the 'compliment' too.

there are days (not that today was one of them) when i wonder, why am i doing this, training, working out 6 days, racing et al...then someone says something like what K. said to me, and you think, 'man.  there is a reason/purpose for what im doing'

dont get me wrong, the racing training is personally satisfying, but to know that i could encourage someone else to take the same journey, THAT.  IS.  JUST.  PRICELESS.

im sure to squirrel that one away for one of those less than stellar days.

thanks TOM!

skrtrnr - 2009-11-09 1:01 PM ^^^ aw yes.  me, in all my before i transformed my life, 'glory'....

its good to remember.

but 'painful' in a way too.

i remember me then.

i hope (in some ways) i never ever forget.

but then, on the other hand, that person is total stranger to me.

and my life NOW is so far removed from who i was before.

the truth of who i am now is so different.

speaking of EPB....

there was this guy that came to my Y, who always DID the elliptical and he looked JUST LIKE ANDERSON COOPER (CNN)

what can i say...i have a thing for underaged gray haired newsmen.

and this guy.  the spitting image.

everytime he was working out, i made sure that i was on an elliptical VERY NEAR him, or if i was on the TM that day, i would pick a TM right in front of him.

i know im a dork, but the thought of him behind me made me RUN FASTER.  EVERY TIME!

HOLD UP....

is that reverse elliptical pace booty?

No training for me this weekend either but will get Q2 of Jorge's bike done, and teach 3 water classes and body vive today.....will try to get a swim in too!
Have a great day Ghoules!

So is that what Donkey' refer to it as huh?  Interesting.  I have heard vacuuming, paying bills, and other things but never shot sporting clays!

Have to try that on the wife tonight Innocent

Hey Ghoulies!!! Sorry I've been MIA!! Ahh school...but I have 5 days off now! YAY!

I did a session on the distaininator yesterday while thinking "man it would be so much better just to run" for the entire session...wow, what a change from even a year ago when I would have prefered that machine over any run, any time, any day! Haha.

I also did a 10.46km in 58min on Sat! WOoooooo!
