Since Melindy is officially registered for IMLP, I am thinking of volunteering. I could do whatever, but I'm thinking of volunteering my kayak services. That way I would be done in the morning and could spend the rest of the day cheering Melindy on.

I'm trying. It is getting frustrating.

I couldn't get up early this morning to run, so I will have to run when I get home. I think I am going to wear my CW-X capri tights to run in. I will be warm, but they do provide a lot of support.

Morning Ghouls.  I had the best swim this morning.  The local team is at nationals so our masters group had a couple lanes at the town pool instead of the Y.  Swimming outside, under a full moon, watching the sun rise, with fog coming up off the water was just awesome.  And as a bonus, it is a 50yd pool.  Great way to start the day.

Darn it!!! Sending healing ju ju your way.

I was just reading the website for IMLP. Volunteer sign up doesn't start until Feb 1.

Hi Shawn, I don't commute into the city as often as I used to but I feel your pain.  It can be miserable. It can be a 40 min drive or a 2+ hour drive.  Just never know. And getting across town to the east side just adds more misery.  I try to take the train if I have to go during the week.  Weekends I usually drive but that's mostly for social things so less time pressure.  Fortunately I live very close to work and can avoid the interstates if necessary.  287 can be a nightmare.

So I'm thinking about coming up as well.  Bill, you're not that far so I say it's another Ghoulie gathering opportunity. 

I was thinking the same thing. We could get a house nearby for the weekend or something. We could even take advantage of the open swim practice while we were there.

Bill...you don't need to be at an IM scene to be foolish and sign up for one...I am 4000km away...

And I'll be about 800km away from one in a month...haha

So I got a great e-mail this morning.  A work friend was doing IM Switzerland this weekend.  His first.  I was following him on-line and he was doing great.  1:04 on the swim, 7:30 on the bike, 30 mins combined on T1/T2 and his run splits were slow but steady.  All of a sudden, he disappeared.  Never showed up as finishing the final 10.7k on the run.  I went to bed Sunday night thinking something catastrophic had happened and they'd had to carry him off the course so  I sent a note yesterday to see how he was doing.  He finished in 15:18.   Yeah!  IM site still shows him as a dnf.
