I have learned to stay out of supplement debates though because a lot of people believe a lot of stuff and it frustrates me, added to which I bite too easily when people aggravate me when I should know that it doesn't matter what I say they will never back down. So I just avoid them now and everyone is happy Giving suppliment advice to people brainwashed to believe suppliment is the only way is like giving fitness advice to parents and husband in my experience. BWAH HA HA HA It's actually really sad, but (among others of course it was complex) I lost my best friend because I was also her coach and I gave her advice she didn't like. |

Well only ever swim coach to be honest. My swimming needs help and I thought some one on one time was the way to go. Must plan out my new swim sessions I can't wait to get swim coaching!! Speaking of the reason why I don't have one - I have an interview tomorrow! And a second interview for the last Friday one on Tuesday. I have a good feeling about tomorrow's in terms of suitability and career opportunity. Then - swim coach! |

Wouldn't you know it, I ended up in an argument with a pot head over which was a more reliable source - my journal articles or his biography of a baseball player who took steroids and experienced greatness. BTW certain interesting people have become very polite, almost to the point of slobbering, on the forums. It's nice to see. Maybe they got mod warnings? |

Youve caught me out as I don't know a whole lot about the HPV vaccine either, except that I hear its a pretty decent one....I think I will need to look some stuff up next week... I don't think they are rolling it out for girls that young here, at least yet, but my gut feeling would be that its a good thing (no evidence yet though!). I get frustrated with the whole MMR thing, and peoples lack of responsibility when it comes to the routine childhood vaccines. I don't think they realise how their children may be safer because others are vaccinated but they are letting the side down with regards to herd immunity. Plus, as with everything, people believe a LOT of BS. |

I have mixed feelings about the HPV as well, for the same reasons. Especially since (when I was there) they mass-vaccinated adolescents in schools. !!! (Like California has the money to do this?) It's weird, too, and I can be oddly conservative about such things, but with this particular strain of viruses--educating kids to make responsible choices, which needs to happen regardless, is critical. And the frank understanding that a lot of STDs can't be protected against with condoms. |

I don't think they realise how their children may be safer because others are vaccinated but they are letting the side down with regards to herd immunity. Plus, as with everything, people believe a LOT of BS. You don't have to research it for me, I was just wondering about a top of the head opinion. They are injecting the kids here with it already with parental permission. Feels a little experimental to me... I remember when I took the seasonal injection birth control right when it came out... what a disaster! I lost two years of my life when Depo Provera first came out in the States and I got it. For two years I suffered excruciating constant migraines and vomiting and endless rounds of doctors specialists and hospitals and procedures ... no one ever thought to tell me to change/ditch birth control until I went to a traditional Chinese practitioner for acupuncture. I was on depo and I was spotting for the duration of it - meanwhile it promises menstruation cessation. After 3/4 year having constant low flow I spent enough time waiting. In retrospect, I don't feel so bad about it since you clearly had a worse deal! |
