Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are swimmin' like the fishies in June!!! I got a workout in last night. It wasn't quite what I had planned, but I am NOT complaining! On the way home from Jiu Jitsu last night my son asked me what I was going to do when I got home, I told him I was going to run. He asked me where, and I told him I was just going to go up and down the hill that we live on since I need to work on running hills. He asked if he could run with me. I said ABSOLUTELY! I would have gone farther by myself, but we ran together, I don't know how far we ran, but we were out there for about half an hour. A few times we would come the whole way to the top, a few times we'd get part way up then turn around and go back down hill. It is .2 miles from my driveway to the stop sign down the road, so it isn't far. It felt good to run, it felt better to do it with him. It was a good night.

That is sweet Anne. It hardly gets better than that. Robin, watching him during Jiu Jitsu makes my heart smile. I can see in his face that he really enjoys what he is doing when he is there. He is good at it, too. He is the biggest kid in the class so when they are sparring he usually ends up with one of the assistant coaches, where he learns even more because they are coaching him and teaching him new things while they are going at it. I think I am going to take my camera on Thursday night. I will try to get some pictures to post of him in class. |

Didn't fit in with the "nerds" nor the jocks. He tried lots of things but they were all work to him, and he is not into competition as in team sports. He is very competitive with himself, though. He discovered that Mt biking and rock climbing were things that he loved and did well without being compared to others all the time. He also responds well to teaching but not to the yelling screaming stuff that a lot of coaching is. That helped to give him the confidence to be the man he is now. It is hard to see the unsure kid he was in the man he is now. (Note: some kids really respond well to the traditional coaching thing, just not all kids and I feel for the ones that it doesn't work for. They get the feeling that they are lesser for not liking or dealing well with it). |

Master 3479 Utah | Subject: RE: The Ghoulies are swimmin' like the fishies in June!!! Yeah, we better be careful. We got more rainlast Sunday here than we usually get in the entire month of June. We've had weird weather here this year though. They're still skiing at Snowbird ski resort (45 minute drive from where I live), an I think at one or two of the other resorts, too. I think that this summer I won't be doing much hiking and wildflower sightseeing up in the albion basin (just above the ski resorts...).Not that I go up there much, but usually once every year when the flowers are at their peak. |

Weather all around has been wonky. I drove through a hail storm yesterday and we have been getting more rain than usual but an hour from here is in severe drought. Maybe Ma nature want's us to get back in gear, eh? |
