Now Eric...practice what you preach here.  STAY IN BED!!  and whatever you do don't send that flu bug to me...I can't get sick like that.  I am glad you are feeling better.  Relax and you will be back training before you know it!!  Better to be resting now and taking a few days off than pushing it and being sick for even longer   Take care!!

Oh no! We're at the bottom of the page! One post from another group and it's all over --> We'll be zapped onto page TWO! Oh the horror!

Therefore: "Bump"!

Eric - Sorry to hear you've got the dreaded stomach ick!

Fortunately, I don't have it, but I do feel like I'm fighting something. Feeling kind of "off" for two days now. Got home from work and crashed on the couch both days.... But as long as it's not the stomach ick, I'm good.

Oh no!!!  Everyone is getting sick!!  Don't send the germs my way.  I can't afford to get sick.  Everyone needs to crawl into bed and get some sleep, eat some chicken soup and relax...don't want to be sick any longer than you have to!

medic0020 - 2008-02-11 4:02 PM I'm alive....I've lost like 6 pounds since 5am today but I'm alive and that's what counts.  How sick am I (mentally, not physically)? I'm laying in bed watching the DVR of Ironman Hawaii from this year.  And the whole time, I'm thinking about how I need to be on the trainer.  I'm doing good to hold down some ginger ale and a handful of wheat thins and I'm thinking about training?????  What the hell?

whoa pardner! you take it easy and feel better. NO TRAINING FOR YOU!!! five lbs! DAMN! fluids and rest...thats what the doctor ordered...feel better oh captain!

amy mutz - 2008-02-11 10:39 AM Well there is supposed to be a huge ice storm coming our way this afternoon, school has already dismissed, I don't mind the snow, but the ice is a pain in the butt to drive on... So I will try to get a cold, very cold run in outside before it hits. I think tonight and tomorrow will be a day to stay in have some hot chocolate and read a good book.... Oh yea, I can't have the hot chocolate, or I will go over my 1500 a day Hmmm Oh well I will just have coffee. Is anyone else in for the big chill?

Hot chocolate looks yummy!...but too hot here for that. Today was in the 70's! was too bad that of all days....I was stuck moving the office for new carpet! Did get in a run though! Feel better and run  and then run some more so that you can have that cup of hot chocolate! stay warm!!!

I'm alive!  Really---the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I've just been tied up at work and at home playing Mr Mom.  I did get in some good workouts today and have to finish playing catchup for what I've missed.  Everyone all set for V-day?

V-day???  You mean D-day right?  Doom's day for those of us who are single, married to triathlons and school work...no fun for me tomorrow...just a test.

  • What? You're selling that bike? But you haven't even tried taking it down a hill at 97 mph yet! You never know - it could be fun! (Although, I'd prefer not to be the person sitting on the back when you try this!)

As for me, so far, so good. I'm thinking it's more a sinus thing than a stomach thing. When my sinuses stuff up, my eustachian tube clogs, and that makes me a little dizzy. (Say NOTHING to that, people! I'm talking about "vertigo" type dizzy. Not "ditzy" dizzy! Ha!) And the vertigo/dizziness can turn into a queasy feeling pretty quickly.... Anyway, I've been taking decongestants, getting lots of sleep, drinking lots of fluids, etc. So far, I'm still successfully fighting it. Yay!

Haven't worked out in a few days though. May do a short bike session tonight though. I don't want to fall behind with the Feb Challenge!

    Well, I don't do "V-day" either. But I wouldn't call it "D-day!" It's more like a "non-event."

Although, when the leftover V-day candy goes on sale this Friday, I'll probably be first in line. Yay for half-priced chocolate! LOL

Pam - Good luck on your test tomorrow!

Eric - Glad to hear that you're feeling better! The "stomach ick" is horrible, but fortunately, it doesn't usually last long. (Although while you have it, it feels like forever - plus a few years.)

Happy Non-Event day tomorrow! And remember -> Half-priced candy on Friday!

I'm so out of the routine of posting inspires and leaving witty comments on our team thread after the last 2 weeks. I promise to do better and lead by example   Thats my V-day give to all of you.

Got thru my masters swim today.  I felt crappy but survived.  It did make me reflect on how much good it has done in six weeks.  At the end of last season, I was probably averaging high 1:30's over several sets.  Today, I was probably at a 4/10 energy wise and averaged 1:31/100 over a total of 1200 yds.  Not a bad improvement considering I took 2+ mos out of the pool and felt like I was starting from scratch in jan.

Just for grins and giggles, here's how my swim training went last year.  Can you say slack?  I was definitely neglecting my swim.

Good to see all the logs.  I have been as busy as a one armed paper hanger.

Julie, the photo was gross.  The old fart in the group knows gross when he sees it and that was...

I am really getting psyched for the race.  I drank way too much wine tonight but it should be long out of my system by Sunday.  The day and the company were just way too good...

Be well all, I will be back in touch soon... EK

    Hey Everyone,

I hope you are all well. I have been sick for the past few days. Before that the kiddos were sick. Right now, I just want to sleep. My stinkers have something else in mind. They are still awake in their room. To top it off I am going out to House of Blues tonight for a friends birthday. I am getting old. Going out at 9pm is a nightmare. I should be sleeping at 9pm.

I hope everyone's training is going well.

Emerson, good luck on your run.

Thank you all for the inspires.I love them. I know I do not send nearly as many as I receive, but they are greatly appreciated.
