mr2tony - 2008-07-17 2:49 PM So when did people become rude? I held the door for a lady today and she didn't even say `thank you' ... just kept right on walkin' ...

I know you're old and all... but does alzheimer's strike people in their 30's?

Ha, don't make fun - because it can. A friend of my sister's lost her mom to Alzheimer's when we were in jr. high/high school. She was not old either - in her 40s.

Dang

Yeah, it was pretty sad. There were 3 kids, and one of them was still young, like 3 or 4 (one of those "oops, we didn't plan to have any more kids!" ); I guess people started noticing that she was acting kinda funny when they'd see her out in public. It came on pretty fast.

I'm so excited. I've had a crappy couple days, so those beers are gonna taste gooooooood.

Blech, I know - work/life has kinda been sucky lately. The martinis I had last night were key...

I could really use a few beers after work... but I have to drive to Maine at 2am. Boat leaves at 8am and we have to be in line by 7am.

So yesterday and today, and one day last week, I took my boys to swim lessons.  and with the youngest, I get in the pool.  Well... they call the class "mommy and me."  why do they do that?

Maybe more dads would show up if they called it something different.  really.  Not that I minded being in the pool with a bunch of moms in bathing suits...

of course none of them really talked to me... they must've been in awe of my triathlete presence... yeah... that must be what was going on...

Bwahaha, around here, those classes are more like "Nanny and Me because Mommy is driving the Lexus SUV to go get her nails done and lunch at the Daily Grill".

Maybe it was the black and white collar. Or the preponderance of fur. Who knows?

Oh man. I signed up for one of those when my older son was 3. I show up and we're the only ones registered... but they didn't want to cancel the class. The original teacher wasn't about to teach with only one registration so they gave us a sub. A 13 year old girl. To be alone with me and the boy in an isolated indoor pool. And she had on a bathing suit that was way too small to be appropriate.

I took one look at the suit, gave her $10 for her trouble, and we went home without getting in the pool.
