Hopefully that works out. I don't completely understand how the club can be sold without the current owners' blessing. Kind of like a hostile takeover, I  guess.

One set of American owners for another with motivation unknown.....seems like out of the frying pan into the fire for me....of course paying the debt off is a plus...but to right your ship you need to spend so the cycle could be back to square one very quickly....

Lots of people were very skeptical when they took over for the Sox and they turned that program around quite nicely.  Sure they had a rough year this year, but it was also a tough race in the Al East.

To me, I think anything is better than G&H.  They have done nothing.  And to me, having someone that is interested in winning and not necessarily just making $ is something.  Oh, and this investment group and Hicks get along worse than oil and water.  So maybe they are trying to stick it to him in another country.

However.....i read that the group that owns the Red Sox etc have some financial issues already so not sure how taking on more debt shapes them to improve things at Pool

yeah.  Then again, it could be argued that potentially ANYONE that has the $ to purchase them might be going through some financial issues lately because of the global economy.  I have to trust that the board will have done their due dilligence to find someone that has the LEAST problems.  I hope.

Let's be honest.....currently they can't make it any worse, and I don't just mean on the field.  I love Liverpool (lived 30 minutes from Anfield up to a year ago), I am amazed at the board room fighting, the poor choices made, the lack of respect inside the club as a whole.  it's a really bad situation that that has been going on for some time and is taking it's toll on some of the most passionate and loyal soccer fans around...bad bad days.  still.....at least we helped Northampton this year :-)

These guys are real d'bags!!!  If this were reversed, folks across the US would be screaming bloody murder that a court outside of the US was trying to legislate a business transaction here!!!

No sovereignty issues here?:-)

So I watched Eng/ Montenegro and US/Columbia...dull and duller.....no attacking flair in these insipid displays..not sure why the US played Brek Shea..kid did nothing but strut around and play balls sideways or backwards....same with England...there is little or no flair in either side...England are in dire straits....I watched the U21's too...outside of Wilshire and maybe Cleverley...they have nothing feeding the senior team to be excited about...

Where have all the exciting players gone?

Yeah.  No kidding.  If the tables were reversed, it would be WWIII in some circles.

And yeah, I watched the US match.  GOD it was painful.  They kept talking about how good it was that they had a clean sheet.  Fine.  But we NEED offense.  And it was glaringly lacking.  Again.  For the umpteenth time.

WTF do we have to do to get an attacking team?  Attacking coach?  Something.  Anything!

UGH!!!!!!!!!!

What is interesting is there are great attacking attacking players with skill and speed at the youth level in the US....so where do they go? They certainly are not bubbling up to the senior team OR they are being "filtered"

Wow, that's bizarre. It shouldn't take long to rule that the Texas court has no jurisdiction.

maybe it goes back to that ESPN series of articles from last year about the quality of our pipeline.  Still having an effect, or do we have to look 4-8 years down the road for anything of true quality to surface?

If the team is not sold by Friday, and the debts aren't cleared, they go into administration and are docked 9 points.

I know some people in TX that would gladly "take care" of the problem for as little as a case of beer.

Thank goodness

H&G withdraw injunction.

However, if you read into it, they are still going to counter sue for loss and damages of up to 1 billion pounds.  WTF!?!?  Wankers!!!!!!!!

Wankers indeed!! Again sounds like a frivolous maneuver. Hopefully things start looking up for your boys. Well as I think about it, I guess they have nowhere to go but up

Thanks for the update.

Well, the last time Liverpool had this bad of a start was 1953!!!!  So maybe then?

'Pool need the win just as desperately as those Bluenoses.

It is a VERY long season still ahead and I hope and pray they don't stay this far down.  Hopefully the signing of the contract this afternoon will eliminate some of the angst they might be having about the future of the club and will actually buckle down and play.
