Hi!  Just popping in cause I kinda maybe miss Mila's pink-tinged evilness.

Hi-ya, Emily! How's your October going?

Phew! Caught up!

Went for a run today. I don't know why, but I am having the HARDEST time getting out the door. I'm still sore from hiking, and I dunno, I just didn't want to go. I knew I wouldn't sleep well if I didn't, and I wanted the exercise (I get to eat more than way!), but I just had zero motivation. So I thought of the team, and I'm really glad I chose sessions over mileage, because it means there are only so many days in the month and that I HAD to go out, especially since I'm behind schedule. I went, and of course I enjoyed it! It's fall, it was a gorgeous sunny day, and even though I was all tight and sluggish to start, I loosened up and got into a rhythm. Also, broke 12:00 for the ENTIRE run, including warm-up and cool-down! YAY! I don't know what my problem is, but at least I enjoy it once I'm out there.

Had chicken brauts for dinner tonight. They were pretty good. Kids didn't like them though. They have no taste! That being said, they ate a ton of carrots tonight! No thanks!

Edited cause it said chicken brats, not brauts!  Undecided

What are those?

They are a type of sausage. Yummers. Generally far too salty.

Oh I see - heart attack on a plate LOL. Sounds yummy!

eurydice79 - 2008-10-06 9:47 PM OK, time for me to start post padding. I'm sitting at work waiting for all my morning consults to show up. I've noticed that whenever a new client books in a cat to be desexed, they don't show 90% of the time. Its very strange. So thats two appointments that haven't shown up today.
Are you a vet?
\

Yes

I don't know why, but that's a huge turn-on. Vets are hot.

Ha ha LOL. You probably wouldn't think so if you met me - I am usually covered in dog hair,  & vomit! Oh and anal gland juice. That stuff is the worst

Edit: I meant to say dog hair, s*** & vomit but BT has kindly edited my post for me lol.

Offthegrid - 2008-10-08 3:56 AM although I did like when the instructor said, in his smooth, low voice, "And remember that yoga is never supposed to hurt." while I said in my head, "OMG, can we switch to a different pose, this is horrible."

Hmmm - was he serious????

Are you a vet?

Yes

Can I have some Ritalin for my 1-year-old Lab? Or some valium? Or both?

Hmmm - not sure what Ritalin would do to a dog. Could be interesting!!!! LOL

Offthegrid - 2008-10-08 6:49 AM On Saturday, we went clothes shopping, and I'm down a pant size! Yeah! And for sweaters I bought almost all larges and even one medium.

Yay! Well done! Must be a great feeling

joemac3 - 2008-10-08 8:24 AM nothing like spending an afternoon watching 1930's german propaganda films (zzzzz...) although it is still better than 1920's solviet experamental films. I can't wait for this class to end so I can go swim.

Wow, they would be a bit trippy. The nazis and the soviets were crazy ...

joemac3 - 2008-10-07 3:33 AM Didn't realize Miley Sirus (I don't know how to spell her last name) was having her sweet 16 at disneyland and they closed the part at 5pm. only people who bought the special tickets were aloud in.

Hey I saw that on the news. Except her birthday isn't until Nov 23rd. Whats with that????

I saw that, too. Kinda weird....it's not like it gets cold in Fla in November....why couldn't she celebrate when she really turns 16?

Sounds like it was a major publicity stunt for someone (her)? It even made the news down under! (well on an FM radio station anyway).

There was some charity stuff involved...

I suppose maybe its like us Aussies getting the Queens Birthday off as a public holiday - except its different in every state and never on the Queen's actual birthday.  Well, actually the Queen has nothing to do with Miley Cyrus I don't know why I bought that up

OK thats probably enough post padding for me. Morning consults have finished, now I have to start surgery. Only one in today, male golden retriever to be desexed. Because those 2 cat desexings didn't show. And we had to re-book an xray because our machine is broken at the moment. And another dog booked in to have a lump drained didn't need it anymore because it went away on its own.

We've been quiet surgery-wise these past 2 weeks due to school holidays, people are away so they're not booking their animals in for routine ops. Consults have been busy though. Anyway, this will give me a few hours free this afternoon to post pad walk my dog on the beach. Its lovely out there today!!!

WOW...I am so impressed that you can work as a vet and still get in all your training!....btw...I have two golden retrievers and they are the best!

It takes a bit of planning, I can only exercise in the mornings before work because I get home too late & tired to do anything! But if I don't exercise I feel like crap so its important to me to keep it going.

Retrievers are cool - big, loving, licky dogs

Hi everyone, unusually quiet afternoon consult slot for me here today. Although the last 2 days and this morning & early afternoon were busy, so maybe I've just managed to see everyone

I have the next 5 days off in a row for my play, it will be lovely to have some time off. Tomorrow morning I am planning a nice long slow run around the river, about 10k. Then I'm off to have my hair done. Then I want to cycle on Friday and I'll be running again with my running group on Saturday morning.

Ahh, visualising it all already ....

I just got a call from my husband ... his nanna has just passed away   Its something that has been on the cards for a while so its not really a shock, but so sad all the same. It has been a difficult few years for her and her family. She was a lovely woman but could also be very demanding in an unreasonable way and this took a big toll on her immediate family. She was also often very uncooperative with taking her medications and generally caring for herself (ie sticking to a healthy diet etc). I am relieved and happy that she is finally at peace. RIP Rose

Oh and in case anyone is interested, we had some professional photos taken of our dress rehersal last weekend. Check them out in the following link. I'm only in a few of them - if you can spot me, I'm wearing a grey top, white apron and a black wig http://www.filipwelnaphotography.com/clients/Scena98/BernardaAlba08/index.html

Why is it that I am either flat-out at work, or completely quiet? I had a grand total of 6 consults booked in tonight, one of which cancelled and one didn't show up. Compare that to the last two nights where I was over-booked and needed to stay late. Go figure

OK I've finished work early for once and now I'm off to rehersal. Don't know how much I'll be checking in over the next 5 days, I try to avoid the computer on my days off as I waste too much time on there with BT, Facebook, email LOL. Rest assured I'll be doing a lot of running though!

mila - 2008-10-07 7:25 AM Yeah, I've always thought the AT hike would be cool, too... but doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime in my near future. I like the section hike plan, though. I should be hitting the AT soon... love to go when the leaves change. And no, they really haven't started changing much here yet!

Holy carp - ours are almost PAST prime! The big tourist weekend is this coming one, though. Good thing the scenery around my house is absolutely stunning, and not one out of towner knows about it - or could get their RV to it!

Have any pic's??  I love NH in the fall.  No better place in my opinion!

ebshot - 2008-10-07 7:46 AM Okay, so I didn't get the best look at the table yesterday because my kid goes and face plants on the sidewalk! What is going on??? He has a new nickname, Stitch. He's usually not my klutzy, accident prone kid so I am not sure what to think. I do think the classroom is fine, he just had a freak accident. Crazy!

Sounds to me like he's growing. Hope you've got new clothes lying in wait! Actually, probably more like new shoes, as I bet his feet are too big for his body. For some reason boys are especially funny when they go through that stage.

Growing would be good, he's kind of short!  With a big brother just a year older, got the clothes taken care of but hadn't thought about shoes.  I'll have to check that!
