So I had a beer called Shocktop.  It is like Blue Moon, but I like it better.  It is not as heavy.  Then I had Peanut Butter Ice Cream with mixed Nuts in it from Maggie Moos.  And now it is time to chase all that down with another beer.

QueenZipp - 2008-10-20 12:59 PM Hi Cat!  You feeling recovered from the race?

Would you beleive Im still sore? I think Travis is going to recover quicker from his Marathon... lol...

Both ankles, hamstrings, outside of both shins... but here is the GOOD news... my knees are just fine...

So if I can sort out that outside of the shins thing (which was the issue during the race) I might actually be ok in the future...

Going to head to the gym later... have an easy spin and STRETCH...

LazyMarathoner - 2008-10-19 3:00 PM Hey guys, just finished my 20-miler. Pace was amazing, but I'm in a world of hurt. I had a nasty stomach cramp from 15-20 that was hard to fight through. But it's done and now it's taper time!

Glad you fought through it.  Good work.

The current issue of "Runner's World" has a great article about NYC marathon.  If I ever decide to do a full mary that one will be on the list to do.

I believe it. You have trained modestly doing what you could for the last couple years and haven't had to put out a race day effort so your body is reminding you it likes to work into that effort nicely.  (I'm still really glad you did this race...sorry you're in pain, but glad you raced again)

haha Im all good... in fact the worst bit is the blister on my foot

Closely followed by shin thing and ankle... the muscular pain I can handle just fine because i know what that is so its a good kind of pain... I remember what this feels like... although I feel a bit like and old woman

Ankles, shins and blisters... the rest will be just fine! (Well until I see the trainer on Thursday but thats a whole other thing

I want to start getting outside now the weather is decent for walk/run things but this morning I got out of bed and thought maybe i should give my body another couple of days...

I may be unfit but Im not stupid! Time i started following all the good advice I give to other people I think....

In my purrfect world Id get 4-5 races this season so I need to be very good and conservative between now and early 2009 so Im ready to go!

This reminds me of a great experience. I got to stay at the Four Seasons in Costa Rica for work and when you were laying by the pool, this hot young Costa Rican guy would come over and offer to spritz you with chilled Evian. It was as though I'd died and gone to heaven.

I haven't opened Runners World, I'll have to check it out. I highly recommend the NYC Mary. It's a very special race. I haven't done it since '05 so I am pretty excited to be back. I want to really enjoy every minute of it.

That would be so awesome.

Where can I get some of that? (I would really like to be a spoiled princess in real life but am only Queen around BT)

Ok terrible picture but I thought I would share:

I was expecting it to be worn around your neck with a chest shot, similar to your BT Girls of 2008 photo.

I can't recommend compression socks enough. If you're embarrassed to run in them, then get the recovery socks and wear them the night before and the night of/after your race. You will see a big difference! I run in them, I don't care what I look like. And I'm compressing right now

Congrats again! Take all the time you need to rest and recover. You should be incredibly proud

Shin thing is most likely the thin muscles on the front of your legs complaining from getting more exercise then they are being used to.   It happens when I take to much time off from running and then go and push myself hard to get back into it.
