Short work days are the best. It's like a day off but you still get to feel like you did something productive. Any plans after the new furniture arrives?

Well, I'm hoping they show up early enough so I can go for a run.  Then the evening will be spent relaxing on it and watching whatever the thursday night college game is

if not, we expect to hear about your intervals you ran up and down the block while waiting on the couches! hate to see that you are not all tired and ready to relax on that couch when it does arrive...just looking out for ya there, Neal! really more looking out for our challenge totals....teehee

that's not a half bad idea, those couch waiting intervals.  neighbors might think I'm a little nuts, but that's okay they're probably right

now is these neighbors your friends??? if so:

so with that said...run those intervals Neal!

Ha! Not sure you'd want that since I'd probably pass out after 8 or 9 moiles at this point, but if I happen to find myself on the East Coast you know I'd be there cheering you across the finishing line. Have fun kicking that race's butt!

aw TOM thanks for that.  and thanks for the words of encouragement.

i think id rather like it more that you THERE cheering me on at the finish line, than running in my place anyways.

AFTERNOON GHOULIES!

back from my RUN FROM HELL!

honest to pete.  though.  its been awhile since ive had an ugly run.  theres always at least a few.

today was the day.

bugger.  but my 5 miler is in the books.

and IM ABOVE THE YELLOW LINE NOW...

77.7%

alls sevens.  some sign there.

i have to say.  since the run was going so EXCEPTIONALLY WELL (dripping w sarcasm) i did consider the fact that i already did an .8 and why not just cut my EXCEPTIONALLY WONDERFUL (dripping w even MORE sarcasm) run short,

but.....

then i kept thinking of all of you, and the EXTRA EFFORT you all have/are putting into your workouts this week, and how my inadvertent .8 mistake inspired the TEAM to do. just.  a little. bit. extra.

i thought, THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL im gonna end this run on a short note...i rallyed, putting forth just a little xtra effort and finished the entire FIVE.

thanks for INSPIRING ME to do just a little bit more today!

i made this yummy Chicken Tortilla Soup for lunch/dinner.  HERE'S THE RECIPE:

Recipe Created By: Robbie
Serves: 8
Prep. Time: 0:20 or more

1/4 cup butter OR margarine
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup milk
8 oz. Velveeta process cheese food - cubed
10 oz. can Ro*Tel® tomatoes and chilies
2 cups cooked, shredded chicken
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
salt and pepper – to taste
flour tortillas – as needed, about 4 - 6
shredded Colby Jack cheese OR Mexican blend cheese – as needed

-In a pot, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook, stirring often, for 3 minutes.
-Slowly whisk in small amounts of chicken broth at a time, then whisk in milk.
-Reduce heat to low and stir in Velveeta cubes; stir until melted.
-Stir in Ro*Tel, chicken, and spices.
-Once soup is heated through, it is ready to serve at this point. However, if you wish to make tortilla strips, it can sit over low heat while they are made. Stir the soup occasionally.
-For tortilla strips, cut tortillas into strips and deep-fry in 350 degree vegetable or peanut oil until golden, then drain on cooling racks.
-Spoon a ladleful of soup into a bowl, add a handful of shredded cheese, then spoon another ladleful of soup over cheese. Sprinkle tortilla strips over top. Repeat for remaining servings.

Notes: If you want to save a lot of time, use crumbled tortilla chips instead of tortilla strips. As a substitute for Ro*Tel, you can use 1 1/2 cups of salsa. Spiciness can be easily adjusted by using spicy Ro*Tel or salsa and/or adding cayenne pepper to the soup.

the following was copy/pasted from the winning teams postings:

"Geez, I go down with the flu for a few days and miss pages of chatter.  Is there a cliff notes version?
I'm back to training!  Yay!!!!!!  I still need to adjust my goal on the spreadsheet, but yay, I'm training again!  Funny how our moods are directly influenced by working out."

first of all if she would have come down with the flu on our thread...she would be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY behind...and probably get stressed and all sick again when she say she was 100s of pages behind!!! but I do have to say that

this is one of those things that make you go HMMMMMMMMMMM!???

can we adjust our times then??? can we? can we?

I'm  baaack!  Had a few extra minutes before going to work so of course I come to BT

Yes Jules, in the main Halloween challenge thread  "Taser" Dee  (not me!)  gives the formula on how to adjust goals for illness or injury.

and now I REALLY must leave.  must  must  must.....  addictions (like mine to BT) are sooo hard to break.      Laughing        Now MUST leave     Frown

no come back...you will miss your moving up on our Ghoulie chart!...but we will make sure to highlight it in pink so you see it when you return! way to run and get up above that 71%...you kicking my butt! kiu girl!
