Taper??? I am just starting to map out the next plan. 5 months to my next HIM starts soon.

A little update: I live near San Diego now. I have a new job. And I have been hitting master's swims 2-3x a week. I can really see some swim improvement but my run is what needs serious help.

How is everyone else doing?

I am running the Portland Marathon on SUNDAY! omg! but it's serious taper for me right now- to the point that i am less confident than two weeks ago. Think positive thoughts for me on Sunday a.m. and I'll post my race report next week!!

so I made it :-) and it was  a lot of FUN! and it hurt like hell at some points. but it's over and i'm so glad i did it!

i started the race with my fiance's sister and she stayed with me until mile 4 or so, and then i was on my own until mile 17 when i met up with mark, my fiance. he ran with me until mile 20 and then waited for his sister and ran with her until the end.  i was sad to finish without them, but ran seriously fast the last mile and then ate my way through the finish shute and headed straight for the ice bath tent.  i had to wait for almost an hour for mark and his sister which meant i stood still for way too long and that probably led to some soreness.

i was super sore on sunday after the race and monday-- but only my knees were sore surprisingly. by tuesday i was feeling great- except for this little twinge in my foot, which has turned into full on pain, can't put weight on it, etc.

now i have to turn my attention to the other major things in my life- moving this weekend, started a new job last week, wedding planning etc. but it feels weird not to have a race on the horizon!
