Artemis - 2008-12-16 10:23 PM I'm seriously considering signing up for the "No Sugar New Year Challenge" in the weight loss forum.  It would be good for me - I eat way too much sugar.  But, it's kind of scary!!  I guess there's no harm in trying, right?

Sugar - it's easy to cut back, but a little hard to cut entirely, at least for me.

I don't think I could give up Resse's cups.

*disclaimer - I'm an azz* Who's Resse??

Just some dude that's so hot that he inhibits my ability to spell properly.

If I don't watch it I am going to start tucking people into bed with a goodnight kiss upon their brow.

Oh, I'll take it. Thank you.

It's not entirely. You can still have sugar in food, just not as one of the main ingredients. And honey is ok, too. But no diet soda or sugary snacks, etc.

I'm pretty sure I can't cut it out completely, but I think joining the challenge would help me cut more of it out.

What do you have to lose? Give it a shot!

Exactly. I just needed other people to tell me it wasn't crazy.

I don't its crazy at all. It'll just make you think twice before reaching for a sugary snack. Its a great idea!

geauxtri - 2008-12-16 10:32 PM HI NIBBS!!!

What a day... got off work early... met up with hubby and almost completed santa shopping for the kids... rushed 5yo to karate... went to liquer store and got ingredients for Bananas Foster... now I'm at the kitchen table listening to concert style Christmas music and posting... is almost kind of relaxing...

Mmmmm....bananas foster. So yummy!!!

haven't had them since a while before I even left La... Hubby has never had it.... and now that he's seen a recipe, he's worried I will burn the house down I told him not to worry, as long as the flame doesn't escape the pot, we'll be okay

Not too hard. My roommates and I managed to not burn the house down in college when we made it on an electric stove and lit it with a butane torch. I think you'll be fine.

So, what is bananas foster? Sounds good!

Melt some butter, add some brown sugar until it melts.  Then, cook bananas in the sugar mixture.  Add some rum and start it one fire.  Great over ice cream!!

Oh I know what that is! Except we call it something different. Just can't remember what

Yum!

oops, my bad.  The NW corner of the USA.  Pacific NW typically refers to western washington, sometimes with western oregon thrown in as well.   It is centered in Seattle and spreads into the outlaying areas.
