I'm TANing from CDA! The energy here is amazing. This is, by far, th coolest thing I have ever done. I can't wait for race day!!! I saw them setting up the finish line this morning can got a little misty thinking how real all of this is. I saw where I am going to become an Ironman on Sunday. Sends chills up my spine. I can't friggin WAIT!

Mom just came downstairs and woke me up.

Dad is gone. He simply stopped breathing.

I am glad I made it to see him before he died, and I think he recognized me. Even if we couldn't have a proper goodbye.

We're leaving for the hospital in a few minutes; view the body and then it will be cremated. He will be buried in the Veteran's Cemetery here in Des Moines.
