Champion 6225 | Subject: RE: Team #2 - August 4 is More Challenge hello teammies. been working on my 'back at it' schedule, and i have to say its shaping up nicely.... i love when a plan comes together. i only have a 2-a-day one day a week, which is a relief what the 1/2 Mary training ill be starting next Monday....my plate will certainly be 'full' in preparation for that. im gonna wait and see before i 'set' my performance goal (ie sub 2 or not sub 2) and see how im doing....im more concerned at this point to stay 'healthy' ie my foot/my body than to 'risk' the rest of the season pushing it on a 1/2 Mary, the race itself is a B/C.... not that i want to go out there and 'just finish', id like to see how 'well' i can do, but the time 'away' gave me a chance to prioritize some things.... and its more important that i do some base maintenance than try and get swiftier at this stage of the game..... but super silly excited looking forward. this weeks still a bit of a taper, but admittedly im goin a little stir crazy.... 11 more days and the boys will back to school (manohpete are THEY ready....) and i'll have more flexibility, and can get into a rhythm with life and the house and training and what not. the summers been GREAT. im glad that i modified my schedule to accomodate the boys being home. we certainly had some good times this summer and im so thankful i took those days to 'train what i feel' its AMAZING what a little hiatus can do for mind, body AND spirit. RECOVER. REGROUP. REFOCUS. READY TO GET BACK AT IT, indeed. stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2009-08-24 11:11 AM |

Elite 4372 Connecticut | Subject: RE: Team #2 - August 4 is More Challenge Still 11 days until school? Bummer. We start in one week for the old school and 8 days for the new. Since we are not closing now until the 31 (hopefully) I am not thinking the kids will start until the week after. I just talked to Liam's teacher at the old school (it's Cole's teach from last year) and she wants me to send him for the first week. We'll see, it would be easier so we could move w/o the kids around but I don't know. Cole won't start but I don't think it would hurt to send Alex and Liam. That way, they could say goodbye to their friends. |

Champion 7546 Santa Cruz, California | Subject: RE: Team #2 - August 4 is More Challenge so we got back late...just getting up this morning! late sleep! felt great after camping in Yosemite Saturday night....we get there start setting up and just as we are about to start heating up dinner...it starts sprinkling....we quickly eat...and retire to our tent....it rained....and rained...and rained.....we woke up to rain. It settled to a sprinkle and continued to sprinkle til.....John arrived! now it never rains in August...truly ever! I swear this was a cry for John! as soon as John arrived on site....the sun came out and it cleared to a crystal clear sky....tell me that this is not coinkeeedenkal (a coincidence). Boy he looked great! he had people huddled around him the entire race....that is the ones that could fight past me! haha the local news crew was out doing a story...if and when I see it I will place a link so that you can see how beautiful a spot it is that we have been racing and camping at this past summer! although I did not race...was a TOTAL successful weekend...and we are very close to getting a van for him...we had one and it sold...but are looking into another that is actually even nicer! YAY hope everyone is having a great day..... even if it is a MONDAY!!!! ;(

Jockstrapping is tough! It was H.O.T. out there yesterday. I cannot imagine racing a 70.3 in that weather. No way. Andy Potts won in a crazy fast time of 3:51:19 () and Chrissie Wellington won in a crazy time of 4:15:11. That is insane. And they looked fabulous at the finish. Oh, the BTers did great too. Tough day out there for everyone and I am not sure anyone is happy with their finish time but you cannot control the conditions of the race. sounds like you had a good time...despite the conditions! did you meet any new bters? |

A few CT BTers were there too. One, aarondavidon who is racing Kona, crashed on the bike. Nothing serious but a bummer anyway. Hope your vaca was awesome! it was AWESOME erica. honestly. we've been SO lucky ever time we go we have the best weather...there was one year it rained most of the week....but..... the boys had a blast boogy and skim boarding all week, its fun to see them really get into the whole beach experience. they worried when i went out to do my OWS. so cute/funny. i told them i wasnt going far away from shore, and a only a short distance (from one lifeguard station to the next and then back) i think they thought i was gonna swim across the ocean or something. LOL. its not often we out biking all together, so the ride was a rare/real treat. stacieb |

That would just be evil. You are right, transition overload, and I don't to deal with his behavior during that! He'll probably miss 4 days of school. Not bad overall. The more I think about it, the more I think I'll send the other two. Especially if Mrs. W (Liam's teach) is on board with it and since it was her idea, I am thinking she'll be fine. Who cares about Alex's teacher! Cole might get a kick out of staying home and helping out with the move. |

Who cares about Alex's teacher! Cole might get a kick out of staying home and helping out with the move. sometimes theyre/we're just better 'avoiding' certain situations rather than setting them/us up for disaster. you know your son well. way to go MOM. and 4 days is nothing in the grand scheme of things. not bad overall is right. and who knows, being around for the move, helping you out, might prove to be most beneficial in the long run anyways...i remember how 'important' it was for Garrett to 'see' where everything was being packed, what went in what box, and where it was all going to and to SEE how it was all gonna get there (oh how concrete they need EVERYTHING to be) perhaps it will give him a sense of 'mastery' over the whole event and reduce his anxiety. make him feel 'in charge'....one way of looking at it. have the kids been to the new school yet? met their teachers there? or do you have to wait until your officially moved into the district for that to happen/get that info?? i think the way that your going about this is really wonderful ERICA. theres SO much to consider, but your VERY level headed, and thinking through all this with a great deal of clarity. im impressed. stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2009-08-24 1:45 PM |

LOL) but if im real, real 'good' over the rest of the month, i should finish up with a 100% in that category as well. i didnt bust a move like i typically do wracking up the minutes/sessions what w vacation/my hiatus and all, but hopefully i can help out some of our ailing teammies.
